Just accepted a Linkidin invite from a 3rd party recruiter to discuss an opportunity they think I'm right for. It's at my current employer and is my current job title.

In 2012 a Chicago man won $1 million on a scratch-off ticket. The day after the state issued his check, he was dead. Doctors said natural causes. He was 46, an immigrant from India who had built up a few dry-cleaning shops in Chicago. He scratched the ticket at his local 7-Eleven and shouted, “I hit a million!” The Illinois Lottery took his photo holding the ticket, smiling. He chose the lump sum. After taxes, about $425,000. He planned to pay off mortgages, grow his business and give some to charity. On July 19 the state issued his check. That night, after a family dinner at home, he reportedly began screaming in pain. Before dawn on July 20 he was dead. There was no sign of trauma. The medical examiner ruled it natural causes, hardening of the arteries. No autopsy. He was buried. On August 15 the check was cashed. But a relative called the medical examiner’s office. It didn’t seem natural, the family said. Take a closer look. They reran the blood tests with a wider screen. Months later the result came back: a lethal dose of cyanide. Routine tests had never looked for it. His death was ruled a homicide. His body was exhumed, but there was nothing more to find. He had died without a will, and his widow and his siblings went to court over the money. No one has ever been charged. His name was Urooj Khan. Should lottery winners be allowed to stay anonymous? Yes or no.

We are quite aware.
Not to be dramatic, But my entire corporate tech career happened because I kept saying yes to things I had absolutely no idea how to do yet.

So much of the climate hysteria is just aimless guilt roaming the earth in search of futile acts of atonement.

This is an illustration of what it looks like from my insides when I decide to go have a Mexican Pizza at Taco Bell. It’s the only thing I like to eat from there. If you know, you know. Sorry for the TMI! 😆

Autism indicator: People are taking videos of Nelson Baghetti in Silicon Valley getting made a professor to Sanford and then putting In This Shirt which is a song about a dead lover over it because no one understands comedy vs loss and we're all just letting this shit scroll.

What is we got rid of data centers and the entire citizen-surveillance industry?
YIKES: @KrisMayes pledges to get rid of golf courses if re-elected: "We have way, way too much grass in Arizona. We probably frankly — and I'm sure the golf industry is not going to like this when I say this — we probably have too many golf courses in Arizona right now." #AZAG

Turns out I was right The candidate who has sent me $7 of mail every day for two months is under investigation for ethics violations by the Georgia election commission and has 80% of their contributions from out of state. All for a lowly state legislator seat Vanity Project

Delta and Southwest drive Hawaiian out of business and Alaska are the ones who are getting all the benefits. They have turned from a small carrier to a Seattlehub.
.@AlaskaAir will launch its first-ever nonstop to Japan from Anchorage (ANC) next May in a 4-route expansion from ANC. thepointsguy.com/news/alaska…

Delta wanted a Seattle hub to compete with United in the Pacific but Alaskan with a new fleet of Hawaiian wide-bodies is dominating the routes The new Anchorage Tokyo route gives a freight market that may withstand future market forces contracting passenger revenue on the route

The biggest issue was Alaska lacked the wide body pilots Even if it leased planes it was an absurd commitment just to compete on crowded routes when it was never capable of guaranteeing the passengers But when you can just buy a whole airline suddenly the math gets simpler
