elle being uncharitable and nasty is her most attractive quality. actually. like she should have been worse.
theres really only so many times i can say that i think the elle recast was a flop before i start to sound a bit like a stuck record but like. dude. you're getting out written by neighbours 2009.
neighbours 2009 is about as lame and boring as neighbours can possibly be but fuck if they didn't know how to write a good paul/elle scene.
paul robinson voice: this is my daughter's boyfriend lucas. i think he's a pathetic loser who will die young but whatever makes my princess happy.
paul and elle doing domestic things like eat a miserable work lunch in the park while they look like they just went to a funeral for example.
in 2009 when paul was pretending to be elle's housemate rather than her father and she was like he is NOT my housemate :( he's my FATHER :(
terese's inability to process nuance can be so interesting sometimes. like i actually think toadie was very cautious in how he described elle and her flattening that to 'she's just like her evil dad' is soooooo....
i really love how neighbours chose to characterize elle and leo's relationship. i don't think any other characterization would have made sense, but im especially fond of them anyway.
