Dada, my father, 84, normally struggles to walk 50 metres. Old age and lack of confidence after a bad fall have slowed him down. Today, something unbelievable happened when he did about 150 odd metres, walking at normal speed. Music makes you forget everything. Even your demons.

To the bright science minds here: Any guesses why the well water in Gujarat’s Morbi village is oscillating wildly, prompting local authorities to order a probe?
I genuinely don't understand the aversion to clotheslines. We preach sustainability, celebrate minimalism, and then object to the one appliance that runs entirely on sunshine.
Welcome To Hiranandani: the contrast between the grand architecture and the everyday reality.
People spend crores buying luxury apartments.
They study floor plans for months, debate sea views versus city views, admire Italian marble, German kitchens, designer façades, and brochures that promise "elevated living."
Then comes laundry day. The million-rupee balcony transforms into a full-fledged Dhobi Ghat. Bedsheets flap like national flags, towels perform aerial acrobatics, pajamas sway proudly, and an occasional pair of socks hangs with complete disregard for architecture.
The building was designed in a grand style. The residents redesigned it in the timeless style of Indian practicality.
Perhaps every luxury apartment should come with a disclaimer:
"View subject to change. On weekends, your panoramic skyline may include your neighbour's bedsheet, T-shirts, and three generations of drying clothes."
After all, nothing humbles a multi-crore address quite like a clothesline.

Warning: This is a nerd post. 😄
Over the last few weeks, like every year, I’ve been tracking rainfall across Mumbai, reservoir levels, and how long it actually takes for rain to show up as water in our lakes.
Turns out, the relationship isn’t nearly as straightforward as I thought.
Today’s rain doesn’t necessarily become today’s water.
Obviously it’s the rain over the catchments, not the city, that matters (apart from Tulsi and Vehar) but even then, the reservoirs often respond a few days later…
Here’s my first attempt at putting that story into a single infographic.

Beware of @BisleriZone app and remember that they just cannot deliver in Mumbai before a week to 10 days at the minimum. I have experienced their pathetic service twice in last 2 weeks.

Scary visuals. Bad shivyagal langauge.
An older gentleman asked a rickshaw driver not to spit in public. He got beaten up for it.
Thats where we are now.
Spit on the road, break traffic rules, ride on the wrong side, jump signals & if someone dares to object, respond with abuse, threats, or violence.
The rule breaker are empowered. The citizen asking for basic civic behaviour gets punished.

Mumbai’s biggest beach cleanup drive post-Ganpati Visarjan was successfully organized by Divyaj Foundation in association with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Mumbai Police.
The event witnessed overwhelming participation from thousands of Mumbaikars who came together to contribute towards a cleaner and greener Mumbai.
The initiative was graced by the presence of Smt. Amruta Fadnavis Ji, social activist and founder of Divyaj Foundation; Hon. Shri Bhushan Gagrani, Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai; Hon. Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha Ji, Cabinet Minister, Government of Maharashtra; and Bollywood superstar Shri Akshay Kumar, who extended their full support to this noble cause.
This large-scale cleanup drive not only reflected the city’s collective responsibility but also inspired citizens to work towards maintaining the sanctity and cleanliness of our environment. It was truly a remarkable step in the direction of sustainable civic awareness and environmental consciousness.
