We joined the Speech Technology #summerschool led by @mlcoler today at @CampusFryslan, #Leeuwarden for their ethic workshop where they worked in small groups! The ideas they came up with were very inspiring and thought provoking👏

Back to our exchange on tribal and institutional #data yesterday, @jowyang, I dig how @mlcoler and Speech Lab Groningen trained AI models on 90's sitcoms to recognize sarcasm. If we continue to look at only what is in our system of cloud storage and databases, we are missing a screaming majority of human intelligence needed for #AI. popsci.com/technology/sarcas… via @PopSci

When we sneeze, we produce F0 contours. Are there differences among languages? Do French and German speakers sneeze differently?

One of them is the Young Female* Researchers in Speech Workshop. 💜 Please encourage your bachelor's and master's students to submit an abstract until May 11th! We especially encourage submissions from South America 🌎 and Africa 🌍, which have been underrepresented in the past.

i'm building a new team 🙌 please share with anyone interested:) after a wild ride with awesome folks at @coqui_ai (we set the SOTA for open-source text-to-speech), i'm leading applied AI efforts at @rabbit_hmi 🐰 2023 was the wave of AI that creates videos, images, and text. these are impressive models, but they are strictly media generation models. at rabbit we're building models that can *do* things for you. 2024 is going to be different. it's time to put these models to work. that's what we're doing with the r1. LLMs tell you how to do a task, but the r1 just does it for you. the way i see it, the r1 pulls you out of the digital world and back into real life:) i joined rabbit because this is the future i want for AI. accessible, practical, relatable, and human-centric. if this is also exciting to you, let's talk! i'm looking for some great ML engineers to join our team in Santa Monica. We are on-site, and imo Santa Monica is a pretty great site 😎🌴 if you're an engineer who loves deploying AIML models... let's talk! 🐰 [email protected]
