But I genuinely don't understand the argument about pregnancy. It's foolish, very foolish. Childbirth is recognised as one of the most painful human experiences, yet some people still argue. SMH

A doctor told me that women’s health research are heavily underfunded and under-resourced. He knows that the current medical knowledge is still largely built around a male default. Misdiagnosis is on top of the list. However, women and men suffer symptoms of the same medical condition differently. One is misdiagnosed because their symptom didn’t fit the textbook knowledge. These are the issues. Don’t let anyone gaslight you.

Pregnancy in Nigeria is a DEATH sentence. I'm not sure why saying so offends anyone. Part of the problem is that many Nigerians don't know how bad things are. The data isn't even debatable. Nigeria has the highest number of maternal deaths in the world: about 75,000 women in 2023, nearly 3 in every 10 maternal deaths on earth. No. 1 in the world. We also have the world's highest maternal death rate: 993 per 100,000 live births. Worse than Chad; even worse than war-torn South Sudan. So instead of arguing "not all women" or feigning outrage at the justified use of hyperbole, let's use this election season to find a candidate who understands how bad maternal health is, and who commits to fixing it.
Pregnancy is a DEATH sentence for women in Nigeria.

Before I had kids, I used to wonder what was wrong with people who said they didn’t want children. 😂 Then I became a mother. I disappeared from social media for 12 straight years. I love my children dearly, but nobody prepared me for how much motherhood would demand of me. My time, my freedom, my ambitions. I never imagined it would take this much. Sometimes I wonder if, knowing everything I know now, I’d make the same decision again. So when someone tells me they don’t want children, I say, “My dear, do you! More power to you!” If you don’t want children, don’t have them. Society will pressure you to become a mother, but society will not live your life or raise those children for you.

No one prepares you for the fact that your toddler will be both the funniest in the house and the most annoying person with so much energy 😵‍💫

Some seasons are for winning. Others are for learning, healing, rebuilding, and preparing. Don't call yourself a failure just because this chapter looks different from the one you imagined.

Unpopular opinion: Being available to everyone all the time isn't a sign that you're a good person. It may simply mean you haven't learned how to protect your time.

The contentification of people’s pain and grief is actually so crazy to me. We’ve genuinely lost our humanity.

Don't let the embarrassment from your first attempt stop you from trying again. Every expert has a beginning that looks awkward when compared with their finished work. Don't give up.

This interviewer that started this rubbish needs to be served court papers, secondly, Nigerians just like to put mouth in situations they know nothing about. Thirdly, I pray the deceased wife and kids are held by God in this painful period.

Gratitude doesn't mean pretending life is perfect. It means acknowledging the difficulties without becoming blind to the good things that still exist alongside them. Both truths can fit into the same day.

Sometimes faith means believing that a better chapter is possible while still doing the work required to reach it. Pray, prepare, take the next step, and remember that uncertainty doesn't have to stop you from moving forward.

You never really know what someone is carrying. The person who seems distant may be overwhelmed. The person who seems cheerful may be struggling. A little kindness costs less than you think and can mean more than you know.
