i'm usually not very adamant when it comes to movies, i feel like i usually like what people tend to hate. but i have to admit that i just don't see what everyone else is seeing with Backrooms. this scene, to me, was the exact moment where it became a parody of itself
The tension building up to the reveal of Pirate Clark was just perfect - the redhead suddenly bolting, Clark and Mary looking around confused, the sound of those footsteps getting closer with that eerie music underneath it. And then the actual shot composition during his entry and the conversation with Clark leading right up to him devouring Clark. Everything about this scene was amazing
guys i'm gonna sound kinda crazy but if my nico obsession days taught me anything was that in the late 60s/early 70s nico used to isolate herself at home playing harmonium and creating mountains of cigarrettes from smoking, it was the first thing i thought of watching this
