@motiondotdev has been my de facto animation library for so long, it just feels great everywhere, and motion+ is honestly such a huge unlock as well with the amount of things they’ve built for you to just use. Great documentation and extremely intuitive too. No notes

Motion Studio 2.2 introduces support for reduced motion. If an animation *should* have a reduced motion version but doesn't, the button will show a warning color. In reduced motion mode you can make your own alternative or get Ultramotion to come up with one for you.

When developing Gallery, main goal was to get all the 2D and 3D arrangements animating smoothly between each other. The technical term for the naive approach is "absolutely fucking mental mate" - images flying everywhere. The final component allows grouped movement only.

The problem is all transforms have to be animated together. Even when using translate instead of transform x and y need to start and stop at the same time and use the same transition settings Motion has never had this limitation but when animating x and y it happens on the main thread. But now these animations happen on the compositor - something CSS can’t do.

Motion 14.2 automatically hardware accelerates independent transforms. Animate x, y, scaleX, rotateZ etc, all with different transition settings, entirely on the compositor 🚀

Detail views can essentially be anything, and be anywhere. The shelf is optional. Add custom data and arrange it however you like. Close with headless physical buttons or with esc.
