In Monaco 🇲🇨, 70.2% of the population were international migrants in 2024. That’s roughly 7 in 10 residents.
11
In Qatar 🇶🇦, only 22.7% of international migrants were women in 2024. That means more than 3 in 4 international migrants living there were men.
27
Qatar 🇶🇦 has one of the most unusual population structures in the world. According to the UN, 76.7% of people living in Qatar were international migrants in 2024. That’s around 2.34 million people out of a total population of roughly 3.05 million.

Interesting perspective
idk man. Fact is all (current) tier-1 cities are outside of this Mediterranean zone, probably for a reason yes Madrid and Lisbon are nice, but don’t see them competing with the likes of NYC, Paris, London or Tokyo anytime soon in terms of appeal for the ultra wealthy (except for tax reasons or short stints) Even from a QoL perspective, almost none of the happiest countries / cities are in this Mediterranean zone. Those rankings are rather dominated by Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands, New Zealand etc

I think weather is an underrated part of the country-picking behavior we're already seeing. People with the freedom to choose where they live will compare quality of life, taxes, ease of doing business, residency options and incentives, but climate will absolutely be part of that decision too.
once ASI is here and living somewhere because of "work" becomes pointless, people with money will just move to the nicest places on earth Mediterranean climate, ocean, mountains, good food, beautiful isolated towns places like this are going to become insanely valuable probably worth buying real estate there now

If you’re considering moving to the UK 🇬🇧 for work, the Skilled Worker visa is one of the main routes. To qualify, you need: - B2-level English - a confirmed job offer from a UK employer approved to sponsor workers - a Certificate of Sponsorship from that employer - a job that meets the Skilled Worker occupation requirements. For new applicants, this usually means a graduate-level occupation, although some medium-skilled jobs remain eligible through the Immigration Salary List or Temporary Shortage List - a salary of at least £41,700/year or the going rate for your occupation, whichever is higher, with lower thresholds available in some specific cases The visa can last up to 5 years and can be extended. After 5 years, holders may be eligible to apply for permanent settlement.

Until the end of 2020, a British 🇬🇧 citizen could decide to move to Spain, France, Germany or another EU country and rely on EU freedom of movement to live, work, study or become self-employed there. Brexit changed that. Since January 1, 2021, British citizens no longer have an automatic right to settle or work in the EU. Today, they generally have to qualify under the immigration rules of whichever country they want to move to. Depending on the country and situation, that can mean getting a work visa, digital nomad visa, student permit, retirement visa or another residence permit. They can still visit the Schengen area without a visa, but generally only for 90 days in any 180-day period, and that does not give them the right to work.

Another direct example of a country putting money behind its effort to attract founders and companies. Qatar 🇶🇦 is offering qualifying tech startups up to $5.5M USD to establish or expand their operations in the country. Through the Startup Qatar Investment Program: - START: up to $1.1M USD for startups with a Proof of Concept or MVP looking to launch in Qatar - GROW: up to $5.5M USD for established startups looking to expand into Qatar The funding is provided through Qatar Development Bank and released in tranches based on mutually agreed milestones. Startups can also access registration and license renewal fee waivers, work and entrepreneur visa issuance, subsidized co-working spaces and housing, R&D grants, talent support, training and mentoring.

Argentina 🇦🇷 is preparing to launch South America’s first citizenship-by-investment program in Q4 2026. Most golden visa programs give investors residency first. Argentina’s program goes further: qualifying applicants can obtain Argentine citizenship without having lived in the country beforehand. There are two options: - $350,000 USD non-refundable contribution to Argentina’s Treasury - $800,000 USD investment in a zero-interest government bond held for 7 years Family members can apply too: - spouse or unmarried child aged 18 to 25: $100,000 USD - child under 18: $25,000 USD A couple with two children under 18 would therefore pay $500,000 USD through the contribution route. @BloombergLinea_ reports that advisers involved in the program are already seeing interest from wealthy people in the US, China, France and Germany, and that many may not actually plan to live in Argentina.

Billionaire property investor David Reuben, 88 years old, moved from the UK 🇬🇧 to Monaco 🇲🇨 this summer. David and his brother Simon rank #2 on the 2026 Sunday Times Rich List, with a combined fortune estimated at nearly £28 billion. Simon has already lived in Monaco for around 40 years. Monaco generally has no personal income tax or wealth tax for residents. via @Independent

Billionaire hedge fund manager Chris Rokos is preparing to move his residency from the UK 🇬🇧 to Greece 🇬🇷 and open an office in Athens as part of the move. He paid an estimated £330 million in UK tax in 2025, ranking third on the Sunday Times list of Britain’s top taxpayers. Greece has a 15-year tax regime for qualifying high-net-worth newcomers. To access it, they must invest at least €500,000 in Greece within 3 years, for example in real estate, a business or shares. In return, they can pay a flat €100,000 a year on foreign income, regardless of how much foreign income they earn. It has not been confirmed that Rokos has applied for or been accepted into this regime. via @guardian
