Ok so as you might know I'm writing a dark academia romantasy novel:
"She needed a weapon. She got a soulmate. Same difference, probably."
A desperate student summons history's most dangerous wizard to find her missing mother — and accidentally binds her soul to his. Oops.
Comp Shelf: Ninth House, A Deadly Education, Fourth Wing

When the last several Harry Potter books were released, we had midnight book launches attended by millions. Children, in some cases very young, finished these 700 & 800 page books in a single day. And now people are telling me I made it up, that this couldn’t ever have happened.
I actually started making these this year for myself and now I have a “sadness” protocol, “anxiety menu”, and “cold comfort” lists and they have been great. Really good to pull out of pocket.
Ohhhhh my god I just saw the new “promote” animation for the first time and it almost made me insta delete the app. Holy crap, that’s ghastly.
Coming close to 50k words in my draft. I feel like I should give myself some little bounty at the 50, 60, 70 etc marks, but I have no idea what. Any ideas? Goal is about 90k but we’ll see what the story needs.

Tom Hiddleston says happiness is overrated and spending your life chasing it can actually make you unhappy
"Happiness is overrated. Meaning is underrated. Happiness is like a sunrise or a sunset. Bear with me"
"You're there. It's lovely. You're present with it. The sun's rising or the sun is setting. It's perfect. After 15 minutes, the moment is over and it's gone. Trying to sustain it is impossible because it's over"
"And a life spent chasing the permanence of that feeling will make you unhappy because you can't hold on to it. The moment you try to hold on to it, it slips through your fingers and is lost"
"Meaning is a structure that only you create in your own life, an architecture with your own particular spiritual fingerprint, whereby if you're going through a hard time, if you're going through challenge, struggle, obstacles, suffering or pain, only you know why you're going through it"
"You might know, this is hard now. I'm doing it for my kids. I'm doing it for my mom. I'm doing it for my future"
"And then it makes enduring the hard times bearable because you know what it means"
"And meaning - this is the take - meaning yields joy. Joy is deeper than happiness"

The poorest Americans lose and the richest gain under Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” per the Congressional Budget Office.
Average yearly change in household resources, 2026–2034:
Poorest 10%: -$1,214 (about 3% of income)
Richest 10%: +$13,622 (about 2.7% of income)
As a writer ps I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be Gwen. Need that on paper before the next book comes out so I can laugh at you all. This book was not Maas’ best work.

I literally started his autobiography yesterday! What an enormous loss. Ian must be devastated. What a blessing he was to have among us.
