I’m fortunate not to cause a spacetime rift to form in my DC when I deployed a @rocky_linux server using @RedHatSatellite. 👍 – at Hartford, CT

There is something about different #spices piled-up on each other that I like to looking at. Maybe I’m smelling with my eyes.

I think this is my fastest #lunch -time #walk: 13’23” per-mile!

Commuting into #Boston today reminds me how bad daily transit is in and around major cities. Puts my daily #commute into #Hartford into prospective.

Gotta #brew that cold-weather #beer when it’s still warm! #homebrew

Yup, I still (mostly) get in a 2+ mile #walk during #lunch.

Even though a #RHEL 7 bug I submitted nearly 3 years ago is CLOSED/NOTABUG, it still gets traffic from google-wielding #sysadmins lost for answers.👍 (BZ1402961)

Installing #ESXi patches is really quick and easy, even with standalone ESXi hosts. Using #vRealize Orchestrator makes the process even faster (attach baselines and remediate). If also updating server #firmware, the process becomes arduous and time consuming. @vmware #sysadmin

If migration to the #cloud is partially because of the difficulty of maintaining servers, then hardware vendors should make firmware upgrades easier or become completely irrelevant. #sysadmin

Not to mention having to check the vendor hardware compatibility list frequently to maintain OS driver version and #firmware compatibility. @Cisco specifically will only support one driver version on any specific firmware version, not a range of driver versions.#CiscoUCS #sysadmin
TIL about the #GNU/#Linux command: #sdiff. GNU sdiff - side-by-side merge of file differences. Bonus #1: compare command output. Bonus #2: compare available ssh algorithms using nmap ssh2-enum-algos. Bonus #3: compare default #CentOS 6 and CentOS 7 ssh algorithms. 👍

Sorry, these are not default SSH algorithms. I made some adjustments based on scap-security-guide recommendations (NIST and FIPS).
