Gold is an important purchase for many Indian families. Along with purity and price, checking the sellerโ€™s credibility, asking for a proper invoice, and verifying product disclosures can help you make an informed choice. Being vigilant also helps consumers avoid smuggled gold, which fuels illicit trade and undermines legitimate businesses. Every informed purchase is a step towards responsible trade. #FICCICASCADE #DeshKaNuksaan #StopSmuggling #IllicitTrade

Every smuggled consignment has an economic cost. When goods enter the market through smuggling, applicable customs duties and other government revenues may be lost. That revenue supports the country's development and public services. Preventing smuggling is also about protecting the resources India needs to grow. #FICCICASCADE #DeshKaNuksaan #IllicitTrade #StopSmuggling

Smuggled goods may enter the market at a lower cost, but the real price is paid by legitimate businesses. From lost sales and unfair competition to revenue losses for the economy, illicit trade puts those who follow the rules at a disadvantage. Legitimate businesses pay the price for a trade that breaks the rules. #FICCICASCADE #IllicitTrade #Smuggling

At #MASCRADE2026, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Honโ€™ble Former President of India, highlighted the importance of collective action in combating counterfeiting and smuggling. Drawing on the age old saying that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, he underlined how illicit trade exposes vulnerabilities across supply chains. Addressing these challenges requires stronger vigilance, coordinated efforts and shared responsibility among businesses, enforcement agencies and other stakeholders. A united approach is essential to safeguard legitimate businesses, protect consumers and strengthen the integrity of global trade. #FICCICASCADE @ramnathkovind

Illicit trade leaves a trail of consequences, from unfair competition and losses for legitimate businesses to lost revenue and livelihoods at risk. The impact goes far beyond the products themselves, affecting industries, consumers and the wider economy. #FICCICASCADE #FollowTheTrail #IllicitTrade #SmugglingKills

A product is only what you see on the surface. The trail behind it can tell a very different story. From suspicious shipments to hidden transactions, illicit trade operates through networks that often go unnoticed. Following the trail means looking beyond the product to understand what it takes to move it, and what is at stake when the law is bypassed. Every product leaves a trail. The question is, are we looking closely enough? #FICCICASCADE #Smuggling #ThinkBeforeYouBuy
