Ashoke Sen has been awarded the prestigious Oskar Klein Medal for 2026, becoming the first Indian physicist to receive the honour. Previous recipients include Nobel laureates Chen-Ning Yang, Steven Weinberg and Hans Bethe, who received the medal in its first three years.

Just watch Sundar Pichai’s conduct when Trump speaks. He lowers his gaze, listening with respect. Then he folds his hands in a namaste-like gesture. However powerful the position, some values of grace, humility and respect remain deeply Indian.
