New from me: Six writers from across the globe are teaming up to launch an all-women travel publication you can only get by snail mail. Each issue features a surprise destination they can personally vouch for, with zero brand sponsors or press trips. la-fronde.com/p/inside-the-n…

Also, @ClaireMPLS talked about pivoting from being a touring musician to an NBA reporter for @guardian, and how her music background helps her reporting. Definitely one of the coolest career arcs I've seen!

A narrative basketball show hosted by a woman, with no hot takes? @ClaireMPLS figured most networks would pass. Instead, she found a home at iHeart for ‘Basketball, Etc.,’ a refreshing departure from the boys’ club of sports podcasting. la-fronde.com/p/claire-de-lu…

The fangirls are finally getting their flowers! Women who spent their teen years building fan communities online are now getting recruited by media and entertainment companies for sought-after jobs. I talked to some of them for this week's LF. la-fronde.com/p/the-fangirls…

Every time Danielle A. Scruggs searched for Black women film directors, she came up with the same few names. So she spent the next 11 years building one of the largest digital archives of Black women and nonbinary directors. My interview: la-fronde.com/p/how-danielle…

Some of the most notable trends: Job requirements have increased significantly but not benefits, and DEI language is a lot more toned down now. Job titles also got a lot more inflated and nebulous — essentially a way for companies to add more responsibilities to one job.

I analyzed over 100 media job postings to see how much hiring expectations have changed in the last decade — turns out, it's quite a lot! la-fronde.com/p/it-s-not-you…

Replying to @emilysweeney
@emilysweeney has a new job at the Boston Globe — and she's launching an unsolved murders video series soon. She told La Fronde all about her next chapter. Plus, for important research purposes, I needed the scoop on her impeccable tracksuit collection.

For today’s La Fronde, I asked women TV reporters to share the most unhinged fan mail they’ve gotten on the job. What’s telling is that all of them had the same reaction: either a deep sigh or a “where do I even start?!” Which says everything.

Vanessa Grigoriadis spent months covering Britney Spears at the height of her personal and legal struggles for Rolling Stone in 2008. The story became her most well-known — and the one she has the most regrets about. Today's La Fronde: la-fronde.com/p/she-covered-…

While I was digging into CNN's subscriber success story for LF, something interesting: WSJ is outconverting its competitors — by a lot. Now, SEMRush's definition of conversions is more than just subscriptions. But it's a good amount.
