THE GENIUS OF THE MOVIE Her argument is: "I've been portrayed as this monster, that's not me." And then other people say: "No, you are a monster." And then you know, one other argument is that… the media's a bit of a monster… “because they made me look like a monster, which is not true. The media tells these untruths.” And then another defense is… “maybe she wasn't the monster. Maybe Sunny was the monster, or Billy's the monster.” And then another is: "No, she's the ultimate monster because of all that." And the way the movie works is [@nathanfielder] shows that it's all true. Everybody's guilty… Billy — definitely manipulative — comes across like a complete asshole… he's the [biggest loser] in the film. @ShaanVP @myfirstmilpod ht @ElizabethHolmes @lanceopp @A24
WHY THEY DID THE DOCUMENTARY WITH NATHAN FIELDER “You will see what it is. For context, I also have not yet seen it, so I can’t pretend to know more than I do… The context is that Elizabeth is facing an 11-year sentence. She has been prevented from speaking publicly in any way, shape, or form. And this [film] would come out after that period in which she’s now allowed to talk. There’s been a lot of media produced on her. There’s been a lot of people who have told her story, and that narrative is pretty ossified. So the whole idea was: here she is, see her, and make up your own mind… It’s not to re-litigate the case.” #BillyEvans @ElizabethHolmes with @friedberg @theallinpod

“Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents operating inside customer accounts, with some agents attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions… Banks including Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, JPMorgan, Wells Fargo and others are racing to contain agent risks. Some are aware of unauthorized access, people familiar with the issue said… Bank executives described the situation as horrifying, with one official saying the industry has grave concerns about agents gaining access to customer accounts and taking steps that could impact user finances… The concerns are at the root of the decision by several banks to restrict third-party AI agent access, the people said.” @MadisonMills22 @axios
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. a16z crypto is dead. RIP. Chris Dixon blocked me years ago because I repeatedly pointed out that most crypto startups have no usage, and the ones that do like Coinbase etc are not built on blockchain.

“Starlink is a private company. They have a contract, they have contractual terms upon how that technology can be used. The important point is we cannot direct a private company as to the decisions they make or not make. What I can tell you with certainty is the President of the United States, nor anyone in our system, ever requested that any changes to that system be made. And that's what we've said repeatedly. I don't know what the story reflects, but that is the case.” @SecRubio @marcorubio @StateDept ht @realDonaldTrump @POTUS @Starlink

Starshield systems are owned and controlled by the US government. Any limits on speed or usage are decided by the US military and ultimately POTUS. Starlink is a commercial service owned and controlled by SpaceX. Usage of Starlink is limited to civilian or defensive activities and cannot be used for offensive military action, as doing so would be inappropriate for a commercial company.

Foursquare was acquired last month. The outcome was disappointing. It's taken me a while to write this, but I think I'm finally done grieving it. Here are some thoughts on our final years, an effort to honor the team who helped build & maintain FSQ's legacy, and my attempt to finally get some closure. teendrama.substack.com/p/som…
