We did a thing this week! My third grade wild readers and I completed 50 books read together so far this school year. Lots of love for characters, stories, authors, series, and so much more. We can’t wait to continue reading and hit 100! 📚❤️

It’s been a fabulous first week of third grade! We read (9 already!), completed STEM activities, got to know our classmates, used GooseChase, and so much more. We even started learning our morning song to get us energized for learning! It’s going to be a great year! #thirdgrade

We had an amazing day celebrating our SHES students yesterday!! 🐾❤️🐾 I’m so proud of all the hard work our students put forth this past school year. Way to go, panthers!!

Had my kiddos write letters to my future kiddos and they all talked about how much we have read. One even said, “You’ll be surprised that you’ll always want to read even if you never liked it before!” ❤️ my readers! Our final total was 131 books together, 12 being chapter books!

I love that @SHESPrincipal, @SHES_AP, and @staceyv37 delivered these to teachers and staff today! A little bit of humor, a tasty treat, and lots of love from our school’s leadership team! ❤️ Thank you!!

We began one of my favorite End of the Year acitivities today! In each balloon is a student name. We pop one each day and celebrate that student. They get a compliment crown from their classmates and get to be the king/queen for the day! Our first queen today had a huge smile!

Students worked together to escape our classroom by solving fun math clues to open locks. As groups opened locks, they earned a piece to the final challenge. So much fun and a lot of math! I’m proud of their perseverance and problem solving!! #thirdgrade #relentless #unstoppable

Hands on learning and a delicious snack? Yes, please! We used electrical, heat, and light energy to melt chocolate and marshmallows. Tomorrow, we will make solar ovens to investigate further. Way to go, #thirdgrade! #relentless #unstoppable

Geometry is heavy with vocabulary, so to practice those words we played a game! We created decks on Charades! and then students placed the device to their forehead ready to shout out vocabulary their teams described. Great teamwork, #thirdgrade! #relentless #unstoppable

What could be more engaging than taking charge of your own learning? My students rocked it coming back from break by jumping right into guiding a lesson today! They crafted their own questions, polled classmates, and then created a tally table and picture graph. They amaze me!
