This new QJE paper concludes that the macroeconomic costs of climate change are far greater than earlier estimates suggested. It finds that a 1°C rise in global temperatures reduces world GDP by over 20%.

I know we're all salivating about Claude Code on here, but how is there not more uproar about this from what's left of econ twitter?
Trump administration saying, literally, that they put zero value on human life. If your kid breathes in air pollution from a power plant or industrial source, EPA is saying that they care only insofar as cleaning up that pollution would cost the emitter something; they explicitly do not care about your kid.

I ran OSHA 2009-2017, and am now often asked what will happen to #OSHA in the coming Trump administration. In this longish🧵, I try to summarize what happened during Trump I and begin to predict Trump II, recognizing that this one could be wildly different than the last one. 1/

This @causalinf podcast w/ David Autor is wonderful. To hear a giant in the field had a path to labor economics that is non-standard, at first rambling, then so clearly leading to the research Qs he's known for, is inspiring. Great Qs from Scott throughout podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

I spend a lot of time thinking about environmental regulations and their consequences. The Supreme Court decision to overturn Chevron deference, makes it very difficult for federal agencies to set and change rules that protect people and the environment based on their expertise.
