We got your back, New York!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Several figures here aren’t federal results or NY-specific. The $472B combines US wide pledges: Micron's $250B is nationwide (NY site $100B) Anthropic's $50B covers TX and NY. The 48% murder drop is from NY's state run GIVE program (28 departments, Jan – May 2026).

Idk man 16 inches is already big enough
Variety reading the comments:
John Goodman says "it hurt" when critics hated "Digger" and "it kinda killed us before we even opened."
“[The headlines like]: ‘This will only make $5.’ It was good reason for people to avoid it. I am proud of it. I had a ball doing it. It was a good six months out of my life. It is a huge swing. It’s going to be around for a long time... Unfortunately, I have to say that [I do care what critics think]. I have to be very honest. I used to be less so. Maybe I am getting old and pathetic and it’s like, ‘Don’t hit me again!’ I put so much into this film and here you go. I am over it now. I am proud I did it... everything I have done for the Coen Brothers flopped initially… so who cares, man? I still have people coming up to me in the streets asking me about ‘Barton Fink’ and ‘Big Lebowski.'” (via Happy Sad Confused)

“Realism” I’m sorry not a single promotional material made me say “holy shit that looks sooo real”. The cgi isn’t bad but I would never call it realistic when they didn’t even make the effort to film the forest sequences IN a forest
Idk man a movie made with a budget of $700K with a bunch of unknown artists, earning $500 million at the box office is very cool and extremely impressive
I’m glad Digger has been getting positive acclaim from almost everyone who’s given it a shot. But, it’s sad how the shockingly low critic ratings lowkey killed this film. Sure, “marketing was bad”, whatever, but a positive reception from critics could’ve acc shifted the tide for this movie.
Regardless, the movie got made and you’re left with one choice: DIGG OR DIE
