Excited to announce Gemini 4 Carbon, our next frontier model which is a step up from Argon across all capabilities! The benchmarks don't tell the full story -- we have been using it internally and it's been an upgrade for us.
I did say we'd be releasing our models periodically...introducing Gemini 4 Carbon, our next frontier model.
Following Argon's release just two weeks ago, Carbon shows the pace at which we’re pushing the frontier, it ranks #1 on the recently updated v5.0 of @ArtificialAnlys Intelligence Index at 59. It also leads across key cybersecurity evaluations scoring 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro for finding vulnerabilities, 54.8% on ExploitGym for exploitation, and 71.0% on CWE-bench for patching.
We’re seeing significant improvements in long-horizon tasks even compared to Argon, and we’ve strengthened frontier safeguards.
As we did with Argon, we’re going to roll it out gradually + responsibly. Some trusted cyber defenders will get access starting this week. We'll be expanding it to more partners through our Fairwind Program, ahead of wider availability soon, so hang tight!

Just two weeks after rolling out Gemini 4 Argon, excited to share a preview of Gemini 4 Carbon - our next frontier model. It has state-of-the-art long horizon coding capabilities driving SOTA performance across the cybersecurity defense lifecycle including detection, validation, and remediation. It also ranks #1 overall on the recently updated v5.0 of Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index at 59.
We're starting by rolling out to a subset of cyber defenders through our Fairwind Program this week and soon expanding access further. Read more at: blog.google/innovation-and-a…

In the first 72 hours of our Gemini 4 Argon launch, we processed nearly 25T tokens, about 3x what we processed in the same time frame for Gemini 3. See more from @SundarPichai’s conversation with @Kantrowitz on Big Technology Podcast ⬇️

Gemini 4 Argon is live in Antigravity for paid Pro subscribers. As part of Pro, you get a separate weekly quota so it doesn’t eat up your Flash quota. Excited to see Antigravity push the limits of our best model yet. Love to see what you build!

Earthquakes cause so much destruction and tragedy, and hundreds of millions of people live in earthquake prone regions. We wanted to find a way for technology to help in any way possible, so we built the Android Earthquake Alerts System in 2021. It enables early warnings at scale, and we’ve now sent more than 1 billion alerts. Today, we’re expanding the network from 98 to more than 200 regions and improving our Be Ready alert to quickly give you additional info. Thanks to our Android safety team for driving this innovation.

Gemini 4 Argon refactored 6M lines of code in weeks to make Chrome more stable. Huge win for the Chrome team and our users. It’s just one of many powerful examples of what Gemini 4 Argon can do!
Gemini 4 Argon is here! This new model helped us do a major refactor on web page handling across ~6M LOC in @googlechrome’s 40M (!!!) codebase in weeks (vs. months) & eliminates an entire class of stability issues for our billions of users. ✨🤖💪

Some great use cases from Googlers building with Gemini 4 Argon 🧵
It has a much stronger grasp of coding and multi-step tool use - starting from a raw Pixel CAD file in Google Antigravity, Argon created this exploded-view animation, lighting, camera choreography, and audio through Blender MCP.
It ran 1,000 rounds of iterative loops to check its own renders and refine the code along the way.

Happy Gemini 4 Argon day!! We built it to tackle your hardest, multi-step problems across coding, research, and more.
Over the last few weeks, Googlers have been using Argon to solve a range of problems. Here's an example of the @googlechrome team used Argon in Antigravity to untangle 6M lines of legacy Chromium code in just weeks, so live tabs can move across windows without reloading.
Available today:
- Gemini API and Gemini platform
- @Antigravity & @GoogleAIStudio for Google AI Ultra subscribers
- @GeminiApp & AI Mode in Search for Google AI Pro & Ultra subscribers

Gemini 4 Argon is amazing for knowledge work and coding - and it’s super fun to build with! We asked it to create this wizard chess game and it's so cool to see Argon's physics understanding & 3D modelling capabilities, makes me nostalgic for Battlechess on the Amiga - fun times!
Argon is rolling out today to Google Ultra and Pro subscribers in the @GeminiApp and Search, and Ultra subscribers in @antigravity! More info & full availability in the blog: blog.google/innovation-and-a…

I remember the first meeting where the team pitched the idea of putting compute in space - exciting idea!
Today's successful launch with our partner @planet prototype satellite shows how far we've come...and how far there is to go. Thanks for the lift, @SpaceX, another spectacular booster landing too🚀

Search interest in latte art reached an all-time high globally this year!
So this International Coffee Day, @rajanpatel and I tried to level up our barista skills using Search Live ☕️
We had it talk us through the pour step-by-step, then showed what we made for some real-time (and very honest) critique.
Turns out making a tulip latte is harder than it looks 😅 Try it for yourself and ask Search anything.

Googlebook is officially here! I’ve been so excited to share the details with the world.
Today, many of us rely heavily on laptops to get work done, but we think there is an opportunity to rethink the category to address the needs of people today. So we brought the best of ChromeOS and Android to create a new platform for laptops.
Our initial focus with Googlebook is to deliver an amazing laptop that feels awesome for Android phone users.
Here’s what to know about Googlebook 🧵👇
