In the colonial archives, I've seen stories of heat-related illnesses & death during the Hajj. But I've never read of anything this bad. This is a travesty wrought by climate change. Every aspect of our world-including religious practices-will be forcibly transformed by the heat.

Excited our paper "The Ground Rent Machine" is out in @theAAG, which tells the story of racial dispossession thru a little known legal mechanism: ground rent. A dream to collaborate with @JasonJurjevich, engage in crit quant, and decline-as-urbanization.

I'm working with @elis_otto and three undergraduate #HeatMappers to find out this summer. Here we are on the roof of Tucson House, the largest public housing complex in S Arizona @SW_IFL @TucsonHCD
