You’re the last person anyone should listen to on anti-Muslim hate crimes which have shot up by 15%. Sayeeda is hugely respected within Muslim communities, a former Faith & Foreign Office Minister. You are simply a bigoted hack. @SayeedaWarsi @APPGBritMuslims
Sayeeda Warsi is frontrunner, I hear, for the government's controversial "anti-Muslim hostility" czar, to be announced this week. As I explain, she'd store up huge trouble for ministers. And few nominal Tories are more despised by actual Tories than Warsi. spectator.com/article/sayeed…

The Commissioner appeared on @BBCPM this evening to reiterate his condemnation of those who have directed awful abuse at our Muslim colleague after she received a national policing award yesterday.
Sir Mark shared his concerns about how common such behaviour has become.

Today, @RupertLowe10 said that Islam is incompatible with the British way of life.
Watch this Working Class Discussion Podcast and see the amazing story of Britain's first mosque and the Muslim community here who were compatible with British values before Rupert was a twinkle in his grandfather's eye.

This is not true – this was money given to councils to allocate to projects of their choosing. There are very clear rules to make sure councils spend money impartially and there are powers to recoup money if it is found to have been mis-spent. Our response mhclgmedia.blog.gov.uk/2026/…
Angela Rayner’s department spent public money on Left-wing propaganda seeking to prevent a Reform or Tory government.
Publicly funded material seen by The Telegraph was handed to council staff, offering instructions for steering local voters away from Nigel Farage as well as the “Tory-Right”.
Find out how the money was spent ⬇️

Kelwick travels a lot, and says the narrative – pushed and funded from above by far-right campaigns and individuals – is the same everywhere: “Immigration is bad, it’s an invasion of military-aged men, they don’t integrate, they’re committing all these crimes and raping our girls … it’s the same in the US, France, Germany, all across Europe.”
But Kelwick has faith in people. “We’re all human, bleed the same blood, have the same issues in life. It doesn’t matter how many billions are pumped into this, if you can facilitate genuine interactions between people from different communities, that has the ability to make these hugely funded efforts irrelevant.”

Today is an important milestone in the long fight for justice for the bereaved, survivors, residents and local Grenfell community.
I want to thank the investigators who have painstakingly examined thousands of pieces of evidence and statements and submitted case files to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Londoners, particularly all those devastated by this tragedy, deserve full accountability for those responsible.
I’ll continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Grenfell community in their fight for justice and change, do everything in my power to ensure all Londoners are safe in their homes and work with the Government to improve building standards 💚

This evening, I congratulated Prime Minister @andyburnham on a great speech and told him I wish him all the best in fulfilling the promises he's made.
I also mentioned the bridges and friendships I've been building with people on the right, and how our society is in great need of more unity and working together to tackle the issues we all face.

We are grateful to have the continued support of MPs from across Parliament in remembering Srebrenica and standing with survivors and the Mothers of Srebrenica.
32 MPs have now signed the Early Day Motion marking Srebrenica Memorial Week and the 31st anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, showing that remembrance and recognition of its lessons continue well beyond July.
Our particular thanks to Abtisam Mohamed MP for tabling the motion, and to every MP who has added their name in support.
If your MP has not yet signed, please share the motion (EDM 558) with them and encourage them to add their support.
Thank you for helping to ensure that Srebrenica continues to be remembered, that survivor voices continue to be heard, and that the lessons of the genocide are carried forward.

I know today's news on the counter-terror arrests that took place over the weekend will be deeply distressing to our Jewish communities, in Manchester and across the country.
I would like to thank our police and intelligence services, for the work they do to keep us safe, each and every day.
Whilst the police investigation is ongoing, it wouldn’t be appropriate to comment further. But I can say that we continue to do all in our power to address threats against our Jewish community, including through record funding for policing.
I also know that our policing response is necessary, but not sufficient. We cannot expect our Jewish community to live behind higher walls. We must also tackle antisemitism at its source and root it out wherever it rears its head. This Government is committed to that effort.

Norway-Poland-Portugal-Spain & Sweden . 🙄
A PM and Foreign Sec have acted (finally) in line with British values ,international law and with basic human decency.
Accept it for what it is rather than turn it into some silly divisive campaign that pits communities against each other.
Andrew Neil says Ed Miliband's statement yesterday "was drafted more with Holborn & St Pancras in mind than with Haifa or Tel-Aviv."
