My best wishes to all Ugandans under the emerging dispensation, may you have freedom and prosperity under your new leader.
Please find it in your hearts to release Dr Kizza Besigye and other freedom heros who have fallen afoul of the government. If you don't want him at home, he can come and live with us in Kenya, where he will not be a threat to anyone.

50,000 paid internships from January 2027 is a big number. The bigger number to watch is how many of those interns get employed afterward. Only 8.6% of employed young Kenyans have formal jobs (World Bank). Key points:
The internships announced by the president on Mashua’s Day are for university, TVET, and KMTC graduates from January 2027, rising to 200,000 in 2–3 years.
Reported stipend: KSh20,000–25,000 a month. Duration, budget, and how to apply are not yet published.
Context: the formal sector added about 100,000 jobs in 2025. Most new jobs are informal.
The key design questions are private-sector take-up, merit-based selection, and tracking who gets hired.

Former Nairobi City County Chief Officer for Citizen Services Geoffrey Mosiria says his dismissal by Governor Johnson Sakaja is the culmination of a nearly three-year fallout.
He says it began when he was stripped of his responsibilities, had his budget slashed and was transferred between departments, leaving him with little room to execute his mandate.
In an interview with the Nation, Mr Mosiria said he had received his dismissal letter but insisted that his departure from office would not end his ambition to address the challenges facing the capital.
