Second attempt at reflections via ReSTIR + ratio estimation; this time seems to work without massive bias 🥳 Also improved diffuse GI. Still some temporal lag and flicker from surfels, but getting there 😄 #rustlang #Vulkan #screenshotsaturday YT 60fps: youtu.be/AQXRiP6XQdo

for me: scarcity, ownership, and speculation are and will always be the most boring parts of what it is to engage with art. i would much rather actively work to definancialize things that are important to me than the reverse.

Excited to share a new #SIGGRAPH2021 paper with @markgillesie81 and Boris Springborn that is a pretty big breakthrough in mesh parameterization: cs.cmu.edu/~kmcrane/Projects… In short: no matter how awful your mesh is, we compute beautiful high-quality texture coordinates. (1/n)

I had a realization that part of the reason I push to absolutely minimize involving more and more people prior to getting something small live (in production) to real users is... I basically assume it's going to be wrong to start. No matter how many we talk to. Just have to go.
