SJSU starting center Joseph Harbert has been ruled out for the season. Harbert has spent the last five years in San Jose, starting the last 21 games for SJSU. This will be the end of his collegiate career. A huge hit for SJSU's offensive line.

It's one game, but I must say there is a new, confident energy for SJSU MBB. UTSA cut into SJSU's lead to open the half. Head Coach Tim Miles called a timeout a few minutes later; SJSU is back up by 21 points.

First-half takeaways from SJSU's 45-27 lead over UTSA: - SJSU's depth seems to be a strength through 1 half. Nine guys have played; seven have scored. - Joey Chamma has 14 points, and Mekhi Mason has 17, leading the way in scoring. - SJSU's defense has been suffocating.

What a pick-six by Tulli Tagovailoa-Amosa... Tagovailoa-Amosa, the cousin of Falcons QB Tua Tagovailoa, has one of the most interesting stories on the team, playing 12 games at WR for SJSU last season. Now he makes a game-changing play at safety.

1st half notes: - SJSU's defense, doing what it's done all season, keeping the Spartans within striking distance; it will be up to the offense to capitalize. - SJSU needs to score touchdowns against a stingy Lobos defense. -SJSU's defense needs to stop the Lobos' rushing attack.

Safety Brian Dukes Jr. been waiting all season for that interception…

Notes from SJSU's first drive with a 3-0 lead: - IDK when the last time we've seen SJSU have a drive with no passing attempts - SJSU's offense isn't hurry-up anymore; huddling between plays gives the defense rest + run game has been the most consistent part of the unit.

Is it because of Halloween? Or recent on field play from SJSU?

Getting Cooper Hoch back will be huge for a sputtering SJSU offense. Hochs absence has been an underrated aspect of the recent struggles. Hoch is still second in receiving yards (338) after missing the last two games due to injury.
Andrew Hartley (@AndrewHart1ey) profile pictureAndrew Hartley@AndrewHart1eyOct 30
Initial injury report takeaways: - Daniel Rolovich not listed on the injury report despite coming out because he was, "a little bit banged up." - Tyler Chen and Cooper Hoch both enter questionable. - Jase Nix will be out, he spent the last 3 weeks as the main outside receiver.
