Yesterday, I received a security notification from Apple warning me that my iPhone had been targeted by a sophisticated mercenary spyware attack, involving technology of the kind developed by companies such as NSO Group, the Israeli firm behind the notorious Pegasus spyware. Perhaps the most alarming aspect of Apple’s warning was its confirmation that such attacks target specific individuals “because of who you are or what you do.” This is not the first time I have been targeted by spyware. I was previously targeted with Pegasus in both 2017 and 2021. I do not yet know who is behind this latest attack, or whether it is connected to my investigative documentary, The Trap, which I directed and co-produced. The film, available on Al Jazeera 360, exposed the details of the September 2024 pager explosions in Lebanon. What is certain, however, is that the targeting of journalists with sophisticated spyware poses a grave threat to press freedom, the confidentiality of journalistic sources, and the very foundations of independent investigative journalism.

🚨🚨Apple basically told him that Israel has either just hacked his devices or is trying to. He made the brilliant documentary on the Pager attack in Lebanon. They literally destroyed his home last week. Now this.

‼️ French lawmakers voted for an internet traffic tax that the makers of VLC say would cost them more than €1M a year. Content providers would pay €0.055 for every gigabyte sent to French users, as counted by ISPs. Its Socialist authors expect €10B a year. The government opposed it, warning that about half the bill would fall on smaller providers, many of them French. It passed 11 votes to 10, with 35 of 577 deputies present.

Sam Altman says its bad that everyone's personal computers are using the world's limited supply of memory chips. "It’s quite terrible to have everybody have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAMs sitting in their own computer, and being used 5% of the time. Like, you want maximum utilization."

Look at this very reasonable request and look at the rival fans in the replies and quotes. The same people and media who pretend to care about his injury issues now
🚨 It is understood that it was an accumulation of incidents which prompted Arsenal to highlight that, in their opinion, opponents are free to clatter Bukayo Saka without an initial punishment in Premier League matches. Arsenal are believed to have said that a referee should issue a yellow card to an offender after the first strong foul on Saka, rather than wait for a second infringement. [@IsaanKhan_] #afc

I think tackles like these should be a red card (I know they never are). This is what Shawcross was trying to do with Ramsey and Taylor with Eduardo, they were both trying to get the ball but do so with unnecessary force to intimidate the player and ‘leave one on them’. The problem is, as we saw in those two cases, you get it ever so slightly wrong and we’re talking ambulances and oxygen masks. It’s the same reason you’re not allowed to drive 100mph. Going in with the force adds absolutely nothing to the act of winning possession or the tackle itself. It’s intended to intimate but but you get it ever so slightly wrong you’re looking at a serious injury. Referees need to get out of the dark ages with this stuff, stop fussing about technical areas and whether a throw in takes six seconds instead of seven seconds. Protect players and punish violent conduct properly 👍

Just putting this out there, for every saying "oh that's a league 2 challenge" and there's nothing wrong with that and we are "crying"... This is the type of damage scissor challenges will do

It’s slightly different. I’m not sure why this is difficult for people to understand me. In terms of physical danger, the idea of red cards should be to punish things that can actually endanger an opponent. And a tackle where both legs go either side a players leg can do so much damage. This here from Rice , the trailing leg doesn’t do anything to the opposition player. So his leg doesn’t get stuck. Now if Rice trailing leg became involved as to where the opposition players leg did get stuck, then yes 100% a red card. It’s how I got my knee fractured in a game and it put me out for 6 months.
Replying to @hbrooks_coach
So you think this should be a red card too? Basically the same tackle.

🚨🚨🎙️| Jamie Carragher on Arsenal’s Max Dowman receiving a three-match suspension: “It was never a red card. Never.” “When it gets appealed, to still have a three-match ban for that, which is significant.” “You’re also sending a message of, next time, roll around on the floor.”

If you are an Arsenal fan who witnessed this or what Shawcross did to Ramsey, you won’t blame Max Dowman for getting angry. The dude is only 16 and has barely started his career, and one useless riffraff from League 2 wanted to end it already. I don’t care what the FA thinks about the red card. Max Dowman was right to be upset.

Look at Dowman’s leg caught in a scissor challenge and the way his leg bent. He was very lucky there.

The other thing here is, look at where the challenge takes place, look at what direction Max is facing, look at the nearest 2 players. Why would any professional footballer think that in light of the above, what is needed is a reducer in the 85th minute, on a 16 year old.
