Google can't kill blogging or niche sites, or whatever you want to call our sites. I've been publishing sites before the term "niche site" or even "blog" were invented. More importantly, long before Google came to be. The internet is not "Google's turf". It's the Internet. It's everyone's turf. I never bothered with Google's guidelines because it's them that need to chase my content. Not the other way around. The fact that they even issue guidelines is all backwards. I always thought so, and still do. (My traffic actually increased this week. Diversified as before. A lot of it is from Google, which I appreciate. Sometimes they still manage to do their job as a search engine and get people to websites. But even if they don't, I'm still a web publisher and will continue to attract my audience via multiple channels, with what *I* see as helpful content).
