🚨 NCB secures conviction of three drug traffickers in 2021 Rupnagar Charas seizure case. 🔷 Special NDPS Court Rupnagar, Punjab has sentenced Kuldeep Singh @ Golu & Sanjeev Kumar @ Mithoo ( both r/o- Nabha, Patiala) & Ashok Kumar ( r/o- Patiala/Chandigarh ) to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 2 lakh each. 🔷 In July 2021, acting on specific intelligence, NCB Chandigarh intercepted a Maruti Alto on Sirhind–Patiala Road at Morinda, Rupnagar. A search led to the recovery of 3.650 kg of Charas, constituting a commercial quantity under NDPS Act. The contraband was packed in seven packets & concealed inside a speaker in the car’s boot. All three convicts were arrested on the spot. The court has also directed the initiation of confiscation proceedings against the vehicle used to transport the contraband. 📌 The conviction reinforces NCB’s zero-tolerance approach towards drug trafficking & its resolve to realise the goal of a Drug-Free India. 🚨NCB secures conviction of two drug traffickers in 2017 Barabanki Heroin & Ganja seizure case. 🔷Court of Additional District & Sessions Judge, Barabanki, UP sentenced Shakeel & Rampyari (both r/o - Safdarganj, Barabanki, UP) to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment. 🔷In May 2017, NCB Lucknow seized 340 g Heroin & 160 g Ganja from black-coloured bags in the conscious possession of the two convicts as they got off Avadh Assam Express at Barabanki Railway Station. Raj, Mohammad Shafeek & Jangli alias Haseen ( all r/o- Zaidpur, District Barabanki, UP) to 10 years of imprisonment & a fine of Rs. 1 lakh each. 🔷 In November 2022, NCB Lucknow seized 500 grams Alprazolam from the conscious possession of Mohd. Raj near Bhaisa Kund, Baikunth Dham, Lucknow. The trafficker was carrying it in a bag on his back after getting off a bus. During the investigation, it was revealed that the contraband was sourced from Mathura, UP & was intended to be transported to Barabanki. Further investigation established the roles of Mohammad Shafeek as the receiver of the contraband & Jangli alias Haseen as a co-receiver. 📌 The conviction reinforces NCB’s commitment to a zero-tolerance approach towards drug trafficking & its resolve to realise the goal of a Drug-Free India.
