These VCs truly embody conviction by taking the path less travelled.
A must-read by @rkenedi on how @LBirikundavyi, @nectarios, & Richard Chénier back bold ideas before the market does.

Building in this space is so fun
We are just getting started 🫡
Every building you've ever been in was designed by software built in 1997.
The architecture, engineering, and construction industry is one of the largest and least digitized industries in the world. Most of its software is stuck in the 90s.
The consequences: 85% of construction projects exceed their budgets and three quarters finish late. The average construction dispute in North America is worth $60.1 million and takes nearly 12.5 months to resolve.
LLMs make better software possible, and datacenter buildouts make the demand to fix this $13T industry higher than ever.

I wanted to share something that’s near and dear to my heart: my love for my province, and why it’s been such an integral part of @LightspeedHQ's story.
This year, Lightspeed will celebrate its 20th anniversary, a milestone I reflect on with immense pride. From a small startup in Montreal to a global leader in retail and hospitality tech, our company has always had the region and its values in our DNA.
For those unaware, Quebec has a deep history in both retail and entrepreneurship, from the old “schmatta businesses” (Yiddish for rags) to today’s top retailers and tech startups.
Thank you to the Inspiring Entrepreneurs Canada podcast for having me on.

Interesting. Yep, tech is load bearing. Let's attract more tech entrepreneurs
The @globeandmail did a surprisingly good job at isolating the insights including this one that highlights the gap between US/Canada in tech as well.
Everyone will be much happier if we stop comparing ourselves to the US, but is that really the solution?

Hello, I run a news site that specializes in longform investigative journalism. Recently, we stumbled upon what appears to be a toxic dumping scheme that exploits Indigenous folks. A big newspaper even mentioned our work. It’s not cheap. Can you help??? therover.ca/support-us
