To anyone who wished they could go to church today.
Anyone who did go and doesn't know how to help.
Anyone who can't reconcile their decision to leave or stay in their faith.
Anyone who can't make out their own spiritual needs and values from those of others.
This one's for you.
We couldn't be happier/more relieved to announce that I, Lord is now ARTS COUNCIL FUNDED!
It’s been a heckuva road. But survivors of spiritual and/or faith-based trauma deserve to be heard, and we weren’t going to stop until we got that platform.

With 4 days until our 1st ever core group session, we're reflecting on the common mistakes in practice around trauma, preparing ourselves to start differently, & continuing to learn!
Our latest blog post shares what we think the biggies are. Do you agree?

Pleasure was all mine, guys!
What an amazing bunch of people 🥰
Thank you @our_MoH for hosting our 3rd Associates Leaders cohort first meet up. We enjoyed your bespoke arts leadership trauma workshop & @nellhardyactor ran a creative session of object stories from their collection. She also shared what it was like being on the programme. 💫
So glad to see @ChurchTimes drawing attention to this. The executive power of one person to decide if I had "good reason" not to complain within a year of misconduct, and to do so with misogyny and ableism, was the final straw of me not being able to return to the CofE.
A survivor writes about the emotionally exhausting process of making a CDM complaint out of time — only for it to be refused
churchtimes.co.uk/articles/2…
In my case, my "good reason"s included not knowing misconduct was happening (he was covering up the abuse I had reported to him and as far as I knew I was patiently waiting for an outcome), and being homeless and hospitalised therefore unable to access Internet and info freely.
Come! The talent, bravery, dynamism, and zest at this event will bowl you over, so don't let the risk of having to bump into me put you off! 😁
This Friday at #WhenShesAtHome event, @nellhardyactor will perform a monologue from her most recent production I, Lord as well as gives us a teaser task from her Inside Out workshop – designed to offer tools to trauma survivors.

Too right I was honoured! Thanks for having me @Hestia1970, and Happy International Women's Day to all!
Our founder @nellhardyactor was so honoured to speak at this event for women supported by @Hestia1970 this morning. We love seeing spaces in which supported people and supporting people clearly respect and value each other so much!
Happy International Women's Day, everyone!

If you'd told me in the absolute depths of funding rejections, unanswered e-mails, dissociative episodes and ongoing battles over my case and my relationship with spirituality while trying to get 'I, Lord' off the ground, that we would achieve this...
Being brought up by the Lead Bishop for Safeguarding and the Bishop of London was a huge moment for us and survivors everywhere.
If you've been following @synod and want to know what all the fuss is about, you can still stream 'I, Lord' until 3rd March: bit.ly/3Ut5oi3

Thousands of young girls are at risk of FGM in the UK. This is NOT a tradition, it is a barbaric crime, designed to control womens sexuality. These victims are hidden within a family dynamic of multiple perpretrators. Cultural acceptance does not mean accepting the unacceptable! Please RT theguardian.com/society/2023…
