OpenAI may have tested GPT-4 on the training data: we found slam-dunk evidence that it memorizes coding problems that it's seen. Besides, exams don't tell us about real-world utility: It’s not like a lawyer’s job is to answer bar exam questions all day. aisnakeoil.substack.com/p/gp…

This site let's you search the giant database behind image-making AI systems like Stable Diffusion. It's supposed to be for artists to see if their art is in the data, but it also shows the sheer volume of NSFW/toxic stuff that's behind these AI tools.

🧵: I discovered this woman, who I call Loab, in April. The AI reproduced her more easily than most celebrities. Her presence is persistent, and she haunts every image she touches. CW: Take a seat. This is a true horror story, and veers sharply macabre.

there's been a lot of conversation around "Théâtre D’opéra Spatial", the AI-generated image that won a prize in Colorado recently, but what i'm interested in doing is looking at this piece and saying "if this is art, what is it doing"
so lets try! (cw racism in art)

So, ON university presidents.
There’s a strong scientific consensus for indoor masking.
Will you now demonstrate evidence-based policy-making—and reinstate mask mandates on university campuses—or will you (most of you) persist with your politically-based evidence ignoring?

I was just asked to be on The National to discuss Roe and abortion...and then I found out it would be a panel with a "pro-life/anti-abortion" voice. I am livid and sent this reply. I couldn't care less if this means I will not be asked back to the CBC. It needed to be said.
