The Binance hacker just lost about $5M to slippage
They dumped 908,793 PROM into a nearly empty Uniswap V2 pool and got back 0.0316 ETH
That's $71 for $5M of tokens
The Binance hacker made a $5M mistake while dumping altcoins!
The hacker sold 908,793 $PROM (worth ~$5M) into a nearly empty Uniswap V2 liquidity pool and received just 0.0316 $ETH ($71).

the binance hack moved $6.36b across 10 chains in about 20 minutes on oct 29.
it also moved fees. two networks spiked the most: ethereum and hyperliquid.
what drove each one, and who got paid:
1/ ethereum
l1 fees: ~$250k/day ➜ $6.58m on oct 29 (26.3x) and $4.57m on oct 30 (18.3x)
the oct 29 number came from about 4 hours of activity. the hack started at 20:05 utc.
why:
+ $3.79b of the stolen funds were on ethereum. stablecoins can be frozen, eth can't. so the attacker rushed to swap usdt into eth before tether and circle froze it
+ 325m usdt went through uniswapx and 1inch orders at $2,657/eth while the market price was $2,284. then direct pool buys pushed uniswap's main weth/usdt pool to 38% above market
+ bots race to close price gaps like that. to get in first, they paid block builders 10,251 eth in tips between 20:30 and 01:00 utc. in the same window the night before: 4.6 eth
+ lenders pulled out too. by the morning of oct 30, aave's usdt pool held $4,707
+ regular users barely noticed. normal gas stayed under $0.01. the spike came from bots outbidding each other for block position, not from every transaction getting expensive
➜ the hacker lost $119m to bad prices. traders and bots kept ~$60m of it. ethereum builders and validators took ~$29.5m. that's what the fee chart shows
2/ hyperliquid
fees hit $6.36m on oct 29, a 30-day high. perps volume doubled to $17.44b
why:
+ liquidations: ~$252m in 24h. that's big, but hyperliquid was #2. binance itself liquidated $754.6m, about 49% of the $1.53b market total. 83.8% of all liquidations were longs
+ on the same day, ice (nyse's parent) announced an investment in @tradexyz to build a us venue for 24/7 perps on hyperliquid, pending cftc approval. $hype ran to $97 (+20%) before the hack hit
➜ hyperliquid's spike is two stories at once. part of that volume had nothing to do with the hack
what's next:
binance started reopening withdrawals on nov 1 (btc first) and says ~95% of the losses are replenished.
so the outflow data is only starting to come in. that's the number that shows whether users are leaving, not fees.
➜ one forced trader paid for this fee spike, and bots and validators collected it. it isn't organic demand, and oct 30 was already 31% below oct 29

The Binance hacker just lost millions to a liquidity pool while trying to cash out.
$5.6M worth of PROM was swapped for just $71.73 after slippage wiped out almost the entire value.
Managed to pull off a massive hack, but forgot to check liquidity.
Uniswap got the exit liquidity.

Bro hacked Binance but got hacked by liquidity. 💀
$5.6M worth of PROM ➞ $71.73
Imagine pulling off a hack and then donating millions to the liquidity pool because you forgot to check slippage.
Bro mastered hacking but failed the DEX tutorial.
The hacker got the funds.
Uniswap got the exit liquidity.
The hacker got the biggest lesson of his life.
Never underestimate liquidity. Even criminals get rekt. 💀

BREAKING: North Korean hackers are responsible for theft of over $6 billion in cryptocurrency from Binance, according to CNN report.

Rough math:
$6.x b hack,
$3b frozen,
$1.x b SAFU fund
Gap is about $2b, we have $1.x billion in SPCX alone.
Remaining gap is (still painful, but) manageable. 🙏

The opportunity isn't that Bitcoin can finally earn yield, it's that almost none of it does yet.

I think this sale may have actually been for $5,900,000
The wallet that purchased it transferred in $5,900,000 used $3m to buy it out of a loan in gondi, then transferred $2,900,000 to another wallet
Gondi charges a 2% for buy and repay sales so the seller saves ~$60k going this route vs just listing it for $5.9m outright
Historic Sale on GONDI:
CryptoPunk #8348, the one and only 7-trait Punk, sold for 3,000,000 USDC + undisclosed amount.
The largest sale in GONDI history.
Previously in a 2,800,000 USDC loan, this legendary Punk sold via Sell & Repay, seamlessly settling the loan as part of the sale.
The House of Grails. Where icons change hands and history is made.
Congratulations to @seedphrase on the sale and to the new owner on acquiring a true icon. 🥂
