Hard to get Arctic blasts across the lower 48 when the air consistently comes from the Pacific and not Canada. I could see a very consistent pattern with mostly unseasonably warm air across the Midwest through the end of the year. Not saying a brief shot of cold air isn't impossible, but whatever does occur will be short-lived and milder than what some people are shouting about. #ilwx

Incredible how end of Euro weeklies, day 45, shows same prevailing Super El Niño pattern as current 1-15 day forecast. Some are misinterpreting cool heights in South as cold pattern, but this is still very warm pattern flooded by Pacific maritime air.

Not a whole lot of unusual cold to be found across North America into mid-November. An El Niño-fueled area of low pressure near Alaska's Aleutian Islands will continuously flood the continent with mild, Pacific air.

No significant shots of cold air anytime soon. Average high & low temperatures are dropping so this isn’t as bad as it looks, but this will no doubt lead to widespread 80s across the South entering November. Happens every year but still stinks.

For late October, we are far behind for leave color and drop for the norm in northern Illinois. A few maples and honeylocus have dropped but that's it. Oaks, most maples, and sycamores are holding up with little to no color with the wet fall and very warm temps. #ilwx
