Under the Earned Settlement model set out before Parliament today, the right to live in the UK permanently will no longer be granted automatically after five years.
Instead, it will be earned.
Under the reforms:
➡️The standard route to settlement will double from five to 10 years
➡️ People who enter illegally, including by small boat, face a wait of up to 30 years to settle
➡️ Care workers who meet the visa requirements will retain a five-year route
➡️ Higher earners on more than £50,000, skilled public service workers and refugees arriving on safe and legal routes will be able to settle in five years
➡️ Migrants who claim benefits face a 20-year wait for settlement
➡️ Migrants with a criminal record will be prevented from settling in the UK
➡️ Migrants will be required to meet A-level standard English to settle in the UK

My understanding of Shabana Mahmood’s immigration announcement:
1. If you earn > £125K, you can get ILR in 3 years.
2. If you earn <£50K, you can’t get ILR in 5years, you’d have to wait 10 years.
3. If you work as a Carer, regardless your salary, you can get ILR in 5 years.
4. Asylum seekers will have to wait 20 years to get ILR.

Because it is easier to make content on love and patience than to actually walk in love and patience. If you actually put in the work required to make marriage work (which is mostly dying to self btw) you will be reluctant to make a show of it.

One church member offered to donate ₦500,000 to buy 10 standing fans for our church.
Early last month, he noticed that people were uncomfortable during church services because everyone kept fanning themselves with handkerchiefs.
So, he went to our WhatsApp group and announced that he would send ₦500,000 to the church account to buy 10 standing fans.
Everyone was happy and started praying that God would bless him.
Our pastor replied, "Our church has outgrown fans. God said you are capable of providing air conditioners."
For the past three weeks, the group has remained silent.
Yesterday evening, our pastor posted, "We don't serve a poor God. Give, and you shall receive."
Just this morning, the man left the group.
