🧾 After last week’s hack, everyone wants proof of reserves.
It means an exchange shows on-chain that it holds at least what customers are owed. Useful, but it’s a snapshot, and only as good as the debts it counts.
Hold your own keys and you skip the question. #Bitcoin
Answer: A. They’d have to redo the proof of work for that block and every block after it, faster than the rest of the network keeps adding new ones. That’s why old blocks get safer over time.
📋 The fine print
• The winner is drawn at random on twxpicker.com from accounts that liked or reposted this post.
• To keep it fair and keep bots out, entrants need a profile picture, at least 20 followers, at least 100 posts, an account older than one month, and to be following @node_org_nz when the draw runs.
• Each account counts once.
• The prize starts at 21,000 sats, plus 210 sats for every new Node follower between launch and the draw, up to 210,000 sats in total.
• We'll post the winner along with the 12-digit Draw ID, so anyone can check the result at twxpicker.com.
• The winner gets a DM from @node_org_nz asking for a Lightning address, and is paid in sats. We'll never ask for keys, seed phrases, or payment.
• Open worldwide. Good luck 🧡
Quiz: to rewrite an old Bitcoin block, what would an attacker need to do?

🎆 Tonight the sky fills with fireworks: energy spent, gone in seconds.
Bitcoin miners spend energy too, but something stays. Each block of proof of work locks in every block before it. To rewrite history, you’d have to redo all that work. #Bitcoin
