A few years ago Twitter helped me land my first role as a Software Engineer after learning programming on my own. I didn't realize it back then, but I met so many cool people in the industry because I was part of the "tech community".

Replying to @arvidkahl
There are plenty of developers will laugh that "AI writes slop code"... But the vulnerabilities we are finding (with AI) were "created" by human devs. Some are seniors with 10+ years of experience. Those are legacy vulnerabilities no human could catch

be very careful if you find yourself simply passing messages to and from your agents e.g. people ask you a question on slack, and you simply ask an agent and pass its response back - it should be obvious that your job can be automated in that case instead, you should try and build an agent (or sometimes just skills) that can reliably answer similar questions moving forward and remove yourself from the loop your value then becomes improving said agents and skills, and your impact can easily scale and manifest even when you sleep don’t be automated. be the automator

Could not agree with this anymore. At each level that I've gone up in life there were people who didn't want me to do it, none of them are in my life anymore.
A lot of people want to see you fail to justify the risks they chose not to take. Remove them from your life, ruthlessly.

I'm starting a book club soon. Wanna be part of it? Hey all! A couple of weeks ago, I read an amazing book that quickly became one of my favorites. Its by @catehall, titled 'You Can Just Do Things', and I've read it almost twice now. The book is about becoming more agentic. One of the most important things I learned from reading it is that you can be highly agentic in some areas of your life and less agentic in others. Anyway, this book deserves to be discussed. I read all the time, and it's about time I started a book club. I'm planning to host a Google Meet (or Zoom) once a week for anyone who wants to join. Let me know if you'd be interested! Here's the Amazon link to You Can Just Do Things: tinyurl.com/mw97evsy I recommend reading the book regardless of whether you want to join the book club.

what she said!
Lindsey is good people, loves to help others, and is also hilarious. Her talk with Roxy is bound to go off the rails at some point. Come troll her talk with me!

I made a post on LinkedIn and I'm pretty sure the only reason why it got engagement is because of my setup lol What do you guys think? What could I do to make it better? Also... please post yours. I love looking at setups 😍

Ive noticed people who think this is stupid tend to be more narrow minded. Dont be narrow minded
You can tell a lot about a person by just asking if he think this is cool or stupid

Thanks to the OG @TasonJorres for dropping in to roast some resumes today! And shout out to everyone that attended - we even got some great tips from the audience! Some third degree burns, too. 😜

"A project that can help you learn stuff faster" That's how I've been describing my virtual learning environment project. It's no bs btw; with the exam generation feature you can make sure you're learning what you intend to learn. Here's a quick demo of how to use it.

Friday was my last day at @ZephyrCloudIO. Now, I'm looking for my next role. I've been agentic coding and learning how to be more efficient with token usage. I led our company in UX design and engineering. I would love to stay in a UXE role, but open to leadership roles as well. I learned that my leadership skills have tremendous value with my experience. If you have an opening, or know someone that may, please let me know. I had other co-workers impacted as well, and can vouch for them.

Something that has helped me do everything I've done to date, including getting into the tech industry without a high school diploma, is to never, ever think something will be hard. Imagine how different the world would look if people thought things were too hard.
