Software developers are not disappearing, but their daily work is changing fast. Writing every line by hand matters less. Deciding what to build, checking the result and understanding the user matter more.

This is nice! 50% cheaper Sol and Luna!
Please welcome GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna to the GPT-6 universe. GPT-6 Sol and Luna build on the advances behind GPT-6 Astra, bringing much of its strengths into faster and more affordable models to support work at scale. We’ve also made caching and inference more efficient, and we’re passing the savings directly to you: 50% lower API prices for Sol and Luna compared with GPT‑5.6 promotional pricing.

AI replacing office work won't happen at the same speed everywhere. A small business can change how it works in a week. A large company might spend months approving the same tool.

When AI solves a difficult maths problem, I'd love a plain-English explanation alongside the announcement. What was the obstacle, what changed, and could it help with anything else? “This is a big deal” doesn't tell me much.

Grok 4.7 just launched, available in Cursor, Grok Build and the API. Same price and speed as 4.6, according to SpaceXAI. They also say it checks its work more carefully, hopefully that means less time finding things it said were already fixed.

Grok 4.7 is out at the same price and speed as 4.6. They say it checks its work more carefully...
Grok 4.7 is here. It's a notable improvement over Grok 4.6 at the same price and speed.

Amazon has blocked Meta's Muse shopping agent, according to Bloomberg. You can build an agent that knows exactly what to buy, but it still needs access to the store.

I'd like AI tools to show how long a task takes from the first prompt to something you can actually use. Keep the mistakes and retries.

When building a saas now, i'd ask one uncomfortable question: If the next model can do this out of the box, why would someone still pay for my product?

If AI makes experienced people more productive, i get why companies want more of them, but someone still has to hire beginners, give them responsibility and let them learn, you can't keep hiring seniors forever without training any...

They want to stop AI development, but only when they’re ahead of everyone else...
JUST IN: Anthropic considers launching new Claude AI model to counter OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra. • This comes after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called to slowdown AI development, citing safety concerns. • Anthropic is expected to go public in November at an estimated $2 trillion valuation, making it one of the largest IPOs in history.

Anthropic would never use ai to research and create bioweapons, right?
Anthropic has set up a wet lab in San Francisco, their bio research has advanced beyond in silico. They are now conducting physical research both in-house and with external partners. The NYT also broke the news this morning that Anth now plans to scale its compute to 5 GW by the end of the year, and 10 GW within the next 16 months. Bio is next after math, and I think we are going to see some medical announcements much sooner than people are expecting.

I can't live with this...
Hey @ChatGPT @OpenAI Who made these buttons in the Codex app slightly not round? 😭 Now I can’t unsee it and it’s bothering me way more than it should.

If your AI app needs the user to understand agents, models, context windows, MCPs and routing, your UX already failed.

AI agents can make subscriptions much more expensive than people expect. One human clicking around is cheap. 20 agents working 24/7 is not.

Soon you will not configure software yourself. You will tell your agent what you want, and the agent will use MCP to configure the software for you. The UI may eventually become secondary.

I really like the idea of having one main chat for the whole project. If it can split the work into threads, run things in parallel, and still keep all the context together, this could be a really useful feature.
Today we're rolling out Projects in Claude Code on desktop and web. A project is one conversation with Claude. It splits the work into threads itself, runs them as parallel cloud sessions, passes context between them, and keeps going when you leave. In beta for select users.

On some of the websites I manage, bot requests already outnumber human requests by alot. We need to start building websites that AI can understand and use, not just pages that look good to people.
