I find the focus on new releases for childrenβs literature really bizarre because as a kid born in 1990 who loved to read I only remember a handful of books from the 90s in elementary school, everything else was at least a decade old and often like 30-50 years old?

websites used to let you just write your own raw html on your profile page. you could change the font, font color, background color, add marquees. insert a MIDI onto your neopets profile and everyone who looked at your profile would be forced to listen to the dbz theme or w/e

Itβs not only the casually smug cruelty of this statement that galls, but the willful absence of political imagination animating it. You donβt know how to explain it to people? Itβs never going to happen? Why donβt you fucking dream bigger, you miserable idiot?

Kingdom Hearts II is like a fever dream. Christopher Lee is playing some anime guy delivering dialogue that sounds like heβs reading a Borges story and then it cuts to a reverse shot of him watching ominous security cam footage of Donald Duck and Goofy on his PC
