I made a meme about disabled access because this is what the young people do these days, right? This is based on actual exchanges I have had with venues when enquiring about wheelchair access. #accessfail #disability #access #disabledaccess #despicableme

I feel mentally exhausted from reading comments on some articles about #benefits & #bluebadge use. So much hatred for disabled people, so many untruths (anxiety does not get you a "free car"). It feels heavy. When did things get so bad?? #disability

But this is the way it always works isn't it? The people in charge will take money, reduce living standards, hoard the resources, then when the regular people complain they'll put all the blame on the disabled, the immigrants, the single mothers. Anyone except for themselves.

Is It Time To Ask About Going Back On ADHD Meds?: A thought I have several times a week. I had to stop taking Ritalin because it was playing havoc with POTS symptoms, but are there other ones available on the NHS now? #ADHD #neurodiversity

All those people scolding Meghan Markle for not talking to her father seem to have gone awfully silent … 🧐

Finally watching the ITV Reform exposé. Is it surprising? No. Is it grim anyway? Yes. What shocks me isn't the level of racism or attitudes towards women (sadly expected), but the lax approach to vetting. It's clear if they had higher standards they'd hardly have any candidates!

re: that male celebrity seeking an injunction against media companies reporting on his sexual crimes, because it would harm his mental health.... what about the mental health of the women he abused? What a WALLY.

I didn't go on here expecting to see literal footage of a guy about to be mauled to death! Damn. But, as a former respite bod... was the man autistic? As he seems to be making a Makaton sign ("bad"/"stop") to the tiger in the vid. #YorkshireWildlifePark

No one has replied to me from @Accor or @bookingcom about the fact that disabled access rooms at this Ibis hotel @ibisHotels_FR in London are over £20 more expensive per night than a standard room - which is illegal. So I'm putting the proof up here. #disabilitytax

Since no one has gotten back to me, despite Accor telling me to DM them (which I did), I have no idea whether this is Accor/Ibis's policy, or a booking-dot-com issue. Whichever is responsible, they need to know they're breaking the law!

The free bottle of milk on every British school desk was put there by a 4ft 10 redhead from a Manchester slum, who was dead within 6 months of doing it. Ellen Wilkinson grew up in Ardwick in the 1890s, in a house with no bath, and caught every illness going. She got out on scholarships. By 1935 she was MP for Jarrow, a shipbuilding town where the yard had shut and 7 men in 10 had no work. She had seen what that did to the children. They were small, bow-legged and grey. In 1936 she walked with 200 of their fathers from Jarrow to London, nearly 300 miles, to hand in a petition. The Prime Minister would not see them. In 1945 she was made Minister of Education. She had one thing she wanted above the rest. The Treasury told her the country was bankrupt and it could not be afforded. In August 1946 a third of a pint of full cream milk became free for every schoolchild in Britain, every day, whatever their parents earned. That winter was the worst of the century. Her ministry had no coal. She worked in her overcoat with bronchitis, and on 6 February 1947 she was found dead in her flat, aged 55. She never saw a single class of those children grow up. They turned out the tallest and straightest generation the country had ever produced. If you drank it, warm, through a paper straw, you were her life's work.

Just looked at Ibis hotels for a London overnight on @bookingcom ... the #disabled access room was over £20 more expensive than a standard room. That can't be legal surely?? @Accor #disabilitytax

I bought a Fitbit Air the other day, & TBH I'm 90% sure it was just out of spite because as someone who writes about disability I've been bombarded with ads for the "Visible Band" which is basically the same thing but makes you pay a monthly subscription on top. Yay spite!

LOL the CMHT pre-trauma-therapy group (that I was starting this Friday) has been entirely cancelled due to "unforeseen service circumstances" (aka no staff to run it?). I'm honestly surprised when NHS #mentalhealth services actually come through at this point. #MentalHeathMatters

The look on trump’s disgusting face says it all. He hates women and can’t handle it when they stand up to him and won’t listen to his bullshit. He wanted a nice taxpayer-funded trip to Ireland to promote his golf course but ended up getting owned. Way to go, Catherine Connolly.
What a great photograph this is 😂😂

Every person is only one accident, diagnosis or life-changing event away from disability. This debate is not about 'them'. It's about all of us. #ChallengeTheNarrative

The planes hit at 1.46 and 2.03pm UK time. @Eve_Barlow has now deleted this shocking lie; but how can she call herself a ‘journalist’ with a straight face? Fantasist is more like it.

I really enjoyed @Matt_A_Shea's documentary on Tommy Robinson's mysterious finances which I knew about, and horrific exploitation of abuse survivors, which I didn't. Sadly I don't think it'll change any minds who are already in the Tommy cult. Fuel for the rest of us though.
