Customers don't want the inconvenience of showing IDs and explaining where their money has come from. But it's required by law. How can the businesses required to comply with the regulations retain customers and stay in the regulators' good books?

I have come back to this headline almost 50 times. The fact that it is not on their Africa page but their main page. The sensational language, the provocative comparison. Knowing the authority Bloomberg has and its power to affect investment decisions. This is an economic hit piece.
Uganda is tapping its nearly $7 billion in reserves to lessen the blow of a plunging shilling, which is the world’s second-worst-performing currency this month after Iraq’s dinar. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Were the young girls from Nsangi SS right or wrong? That’s a debate worth having. Do you realise how much media houses invest in research to understand their audiences? These young ladies offered valuable audience insights for free, the kind of feedback that companies spend millions trying to obtain.

I have seen students of a secondary school in Nsangi in a video clip completely degrading and denigrating some senior members of the media fraternity. I have refrained from tagging the clip in this post because I will be helping to promote such an unfortunate production. My ask— management of this school, please pull it down & apologise to all those mentioned in the clip, the media fraternity & the country. I also request that the @Educ_SportsUg reign on such schools to stop misguiding students into such unfortunate productions.

It is easy to call out young people when they get it wrong. But how often do we stop to ask ourselves what we are teaching them by the way we conduct ourselves? I watched the Nsangi students’ clip found myself thinking about the responsibility that comes with having a microphone, a platform and an audience. Does being young or ignorant excuse poor judgement? No. But neither does being older automatically make us better examples. As we castigate the students, I think we need to look beyond the teenagers and take a closer look at ourselves. Some of us who are old enough to know better have made a habit of using our platforms to ridicule, pull people down and say just about anything for engagement. We call it being bold / speaking our minds. Then we get shocked when the younger generation picks up the same habits. What exactly are we teaching them? It reminds me of a mother who walks around the house in her nightdress at noon, then turns around to scold her 12-year-old for doing the same. Her point may be valid, but what example has she set? Yes, the students must take responsibility for their actions. But so must we. If we want young people to use their voices & platforms responsibly, we must be willing to walk the talk. We cannot keep telling the next generation to do better while giving them a front-row seat to our own very bad manners.

Bamutakudde receives 300 local chicken for the local egg production project. A while now I have been sharing with you about the 30 local chicken per household model which we want to pioneer as a project to increase household income for our people in Bamutakudde. Well, for the last three weeks we have been preparing poultry houses in every household. We also did a 2 weeks training on chicken farming. I am pleased to inform you that the first batch of local chics has arrived. We are grateful to TK chicken farm for this great donation of 300 chicken. Together, they have donated to us 500 chics. We shall distribute these chicken to at least 10 households for starters. #Tusimbude. #Babysteps #BamutakuddeVillage
