Proud to announce that New York City has registered a record 4,200 New Yorkers in our doula care program.
Pregnancy and childbirth are life-changing moments. No one should be forced to navigate them alone.
The Citywide Doula Initiative has connected thousands of New Yorkers with free doula support, addressing longstanding inequities in maternal care for Black and Latino families.
We’re going a step further by adding doula coverage to eligible health plans so that more New Yorkers have the care they need before, during, and after childbirth.
Today we celebrated a major milestone for the Citywide Doula Initiative: More than 4,200 people have received doula care through the program since its launch, many of them in neighborhoods most affected by health and socioeconomic inequities.

Yuh-Line *should* be heading to Albany to continue the work of fighting for us regular folks, but things didn't work out as hoped. A heartbreaking loss, but I know she'll never stop fighting - it'll just be in a different capacity. And she'll always find time to pet the dogs 🥹💜

@yuhline has been one of the most important voices and presences we have as a movement.
She laid the groundwork to take down Goldman and Cuomo, and I'm confident that in the shadow of our victories you can find her smile, laugh, and leadership.
Wish she won, but proud she tried

So grateful to continue to have the support of the incredible and legendary @BernieSanders . I’m always inspired and emboldened and moved every time I hear him speak. Tax the rich. Fight Oligarchy.

Incredibly proud to receive the important endorsement of @NYCKidsPAC ! We know that our public schools and our students are the future for our city. I am a product of public schools and I will be depending on our public schools for my daughter’s education. I will always fight to make sure the voices of our students and their learning needs are a priority in our state.

We also are endorsing @yuhline for SD 27 in Manhattan. She had a terrific progressive record in the Assembly & we are eager to see what she’ll do in the Senate! Early voting starts tomorrow. Find your polling place & hours here: findmypollsite.vote.nyc

This is horrific. If you or a loved one is impacted, my office stands ready to assist. I stand with the trans community and firmly against this Administration's relentless attacks on trans youth and their care.
Scoop: Mount Sinai is calling up parents of trans patients who received care there as minors to say they are sharing their medical records with the Trump admin. But Mount Sinai won’t confirm the existence of a federal subpoena. W/ @giuliaheyward

Young people are always told what not to do. But what should you do?
Did you know that most public libraries have a Nintendo Switch to use? That parks show free movies at night? That there's a map of pickup basketball games?
Nyc.gov/summer is a map of free and affordable things to do this summer that we made just for you.
Because public programs mean nothing if you don't know how to access them.

To answer the questions directly that Hakeem Jeffries dodged:
Yes ICE should be abolished.
Yes Congress should use the Appropriations process to rein in this domestic Gestapo.
Yes, what we saw in Minnesota was state murder of an American citizen named Renee Nicole Good.

@HenryFordHealth My 80 year old immunocompromised father has visited your ER twice in 2 days. The first time they let him sit in the waiting room for almost 2 hours without being seen and said they had no idea if he would be called. Now, with a SBO confirmed on Ct-scan (1/3)
He returned to the ER and is waiting to perforate in the waiting room. What’s going on? Hire some staff. (2/3)
@HenryFordHealth @ERDoc_Detroit Never heard back. Now he has a nosocomial infection.
NPS and PAs can write labs and do workups and make sure patients get stabilized even sitting in a chair. This is so inefficient and inhumane(3/3)

I hate having to share this, but I know I’m not alone. I had a miscarriage post-Roe while visiting family in Texas in 2022. I almost died — after 7-8 hours of begging, I got an emergency D&C and transfusion. They don’t mind letting women die. apnews.com/article/supreme-c…
