Just last week, a US journalist infamously opined that Indian VCs are not taking enough risks with backing deep tech startups.
Yesterday, Anthropic's IPO filing revealed that no US VC was present in Series A *or* Series B.
The (investing) world is flatter than we think.
Thank god we can find and intercept lost hikers as they mistakenly run away from rescue in dense forest!
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

Shocked to hear about the passing of @haricm . We last spoke some months ago, when he said he needed a space away from college to work on his thesis, so he spent some time working out of our office.
What many don't know is that he briefly worked at MediaNama: a few years ago I was exploring some businesses tangential to MediaNama, and Hari came on board for a few months to work with me on planning them out.
We met folks, explored options, figured things weren't quite possible because I had bandwidth constraints, and we parted ways on a pleasant note. He was soft spoken and smart, and an introvert.
After that, he came to office once because he was confused about what he should work on for his research thesis, and I helped him narrow his options keeping future job prospects in mind.
I'm not aware of what happened and how he passed away, but I wish he's at peace.

Why is Indian Cyber often a joke and is increasingly a societal farce? It is because of State+ and Status++ mentality, and embedding mediocrity b/c Local infants needs to be protected from global competence via compliance theatre
@ssmumbai and I say it loud about eMudhra-4.

It is kinda hilarious when you realise that all Cyber AI models were trained on Bugtraq emails.
Omg I found a copy of the original memory_limit advisory. marc.info/?l=bugtraq&m=10898…
Exactly. We have companies that have unleashed malware and viruses world wide, whose CEOs should be arrested and prosecuted, who have somehow been able to change this crime into a marketing gimmick instead.

Indian govt can't secure shit: emudhra, aadhaar, the list is endless. CERT-IN issues advisories, protects nothing.
But Home Min & DOT will shove stupid ideas down our throats be of their god complex.
They have no idea how much will break, & can't be bothered to figure out

PSA: Do NOT use public WiFi or shady DNS servers for the next few weeks.
SSL is practically broken and you can be attcked with an MITM attack. Your ISP and other intermediaries can also spy on you. Use a trusted VPN.
It will take a few days at least to flush out this crap CA.
Instead of using 384 bit random private keys, they used private keys like the super secret, unguessable number 4.
They are a cryptography company. They had one job. They're selling Post-Quantum Cryptography while doing shit like this lmao.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
SSL/TLS is not broken. The vulnerability involved eight eMudhra intermediate certificates, which major browsers and operating systems (Chrome, Firefox, Apple, and Microsoft) had already blocked by October 20. Updated devices are protected against these MITM attacks.

“A single cluster currently serves 155 trillion tokens/day, generating $38 in revenue per GPU-hour (at off-peak pricing).”
Huge flex from DeepSeek. Not only did they open-source their inference engine, but they also open-sourced their revenue numbers.
They didn't disclose which GPUs they're using here, but DeepInfer supports both NVIDIA Blackwell and Huawei Ascend.
Even assuming they're renting B300s at $7 per GPU-hour, that's ~82% gross margin.

I think what is actually needed is for Indian people to actually give a damn about their cities and fellow citizens.
Anybody using the "I pay taxes, I shouldn't have to do anything" excuse should go live in another country. India isn't developed, it's developing, so it needs patriots, not parasites. If this triggers you, it means you're part of the problem.
If you're not happy with the footpath (or a pothole, or anything else which is broken), fix it, or call someone to fix it, and don't give up until it's fixed. Be relentless. Be vocal. Be creative. Make it your mission to get that one thing fixed. Look at what Virendra (@Virendra0698) did by just calling the right people and being respectful (but also persistent). He and Arun Pai (@arunpaiblrwalks) along with the help of GBA and some wonderful volunteers turned an unofficial garbage dump into a pristine, beautiful footpath through sheer force of will.

This is actually a great example of ML/DL. The data used to fill in the blanks is just statistically probable, but not accurate or true I'm any objective way. An LLM works the same way in regards of giving a plausible but not necceasarily a correct answer.
