🚨 TECH Updates | INTERVIEW PREP #02 AI helped uncover two critical vulnerabilities in PHP, a runtime that's been powering the web for decades. The vulnerabilities, collectively called PHP2Shell, were disclosed on October 21. Both carry a CVSS score of 9.2 and can enable unauthenticated Remote Code Execution (RCE). Here's what makes them interesting: CVE-2026-109618: Out-of-memory corruption PHP's memory limit handling can interrupt request processing while internal data structures are only partially initialised. Cleanup routines then operate on invalid memory state, creating an RCE path. CVE-2026-109619: Stale global state Request specific state survives after its backing memory is freed. A subsequent request handled by the same worker can access those stale references, a cross-request use-after-free. The response: 🔹 PHP released emergency patches on October 21. 🔹 Government agencies temporarily took websites offline. 🔹 Security agencies urged immediate patching. 🔹 Proof-of-concept exploits began circulating. Fixed versions: 8.5.12 · 8.4.27 · 8.3.36 · 8.2.35 The interesting part isn't just that AI found bugs. It's that vulnerabilities in foundational software can now be discovered and analysed at a pace that changes how quickly defenders need to respond.

🚨 Tech updates | INTERVIEW PREP #01 How did an ECDSA P-384 Certificate Authority end up with a private key that was just 4? This actually happened at eMudhra, an Indian Certificate Authority. What happened? 🔹 In April 2025, eMudhra generated 8 intermediate CA key pairs for TLS and Code Signing. 🔹 A flaw in its Key Generation Ceremony's key wrap/unwrap process resulted in weak private keys being published alongside the intended strong keys. 🔹 The recovered private key values were: 4, 56, 66, 115, 155, 156, 230, 237 Why is this dangerous? The ECDSA public key is calculated as: Q = d × G Where d is the private scalar and G is the elliptic-curve generator point. With a properly generated P-384 key, recovering d from Q is computationally infeasible. But when d = 4, an attacker only needs to calculate a few candidate points to recover the private key. This isn't a break of ECDSA or P-384. It's a failure of cryptographic key generation. but why does it matter? intermediate CA private keys can sign certificates for other entities. if compromised, they could potentially enable fraudulent TLS certificates, website impersonation and malicious code signing. what happened after that: 🔹 A researcher disclosed the vulnerability in October 2026. 🔹 All 8 affected intermediate certificates were revoked. 🔹 Browser vendors moved to distrust the affected certificates. 🔹 eMudhra announced its exit from the global public TLS certificate business. follow @offerscout for more such updates and explainers

I’d bet 8 out of 10 beginners make at least 5 of these interview mistakes. Check how many you make 🧵

Bonus: treat every rejection as data. After each interview, write down: → Questions asked → Where you froze → What you’d answer differently After 5 interviews you’ll have a personal playbook most candidates never build.
