You can work out a keyword's search volume from your ads dashboard. Ad impressions, divided by visibility. Say 200 impressions at half visibility. That's about 400 searches in 90 days. Roughly 130 a month. Check that before you build a listing around the keyword.

Your listing drives most of your installs, and nobody schedules a second look at it once it ships. Over time the "why" ends up in bullet 4, the screenshots get confusing, and keywords fall out of the spots that matter. Put a date in your calendar to reopen it.

Merchants cancel apps that work fine, often because the home screen never showed it working. They log in to check one thing: is it still worth what I pay? Six metrics don't answer that. One number does: the value delivered this month, with an arrow against last month.

this is one of the reasons why everyone's shipping always-on agents now: they're way stickier than chat apps I'm noticing it with grok bot. switching now would be so much migration work. I'd have to: - export all my memory - recreate all my bots - redo all my app connections - move all my skills - set up all my routines again product lock-in was hard to get in the chat era. these companies are getting it now, and that's good for business xitter.cf/claudeai/status/211298…
We’re opening a research preview of Claude Duet, a new app where Claude works as a proactive agent. It comes to you with what needs your attention, completes tasks you ask of it, keeps working when you step away, and checks with you before it acts on your behalf.

The hackpocalypse is now in full effect.
We are currently shutting down Postiz for all customers. We are afraid @Railway has been compromised; they won't tell us. We have received emails from Anthropic and Stripe that our keys have been compromised. We are digging into it and will get back to you ASAP!

Before BFCM, a bigger Shopify Ads budget won't fix a listing merchants leave. Clicks arrive, installs don't, and the algorithm learns nothing from them. Installs on a keyword lower what you pay for it and lift your organic rank. Fix the listing before raising ad budget.

Before BFCM traffic hits, open your App Store listing on your phone. Count 8 seconds. If you can't say what the app does and who it's for, a merchant can't either. Every ad click and every organic visit lands on that page.

Most founders think Shopify ads = user acquisition. Wrong game. $50/day on Shopify ads won't get you installs. It gets you market intelligence: - Which keywords customers actually search - Where competition is bleeding money - What to optimize your listing around Spend $1,500 on intelligence. Not hope.

The first few hundred installs from App Store search felt free. Then the same merchants kept searching the same terms. A stall there is rarely the product. The traffic was borrowed. Growth now needs distribution that doesn't wait for a search.

2 years ago: Built for Shopify = nice to have Today: Shopify actively prefers BFS apps in rankings Your custom UI matters less than you think. Shopify's design patterns = merchant confidence. Non-BFS apps are getting buried. Trust is borrowed, not built from scratch.

Before you add a feature or rewrite the pitch, check if any merchant finds you without a search. Agency partnerships. Integrations with tools merchants already use. Content that reaches them before they know they need the category. If you have none: that’s your stall.

I'm following a bunch of people on IG who literally scout for fast rising github repos, record a flashy video about how that repo changes everything then say comment FLASH and share the link with you.

Merchants mostly skip your app description. They scan the bullets, glance at two screenshots, check reviews, scroll to pricing. The readers are Shopify's algorithm, Sidekick, Google and ChatGPT. Write it for them.
35
The best copy for your app description is already in your ads search terms report. Those are the exact phrases merchants typed before they clicked. Put them in the description. Plainly. That’s what gets crawled, matched, and picked up when Sidekick recommends an app.

The week before BFCM, offer customers a 15-minute setup check as customer care. Most won't reply. The ones who do are the most anxious, usually the most engaged. Do the calls. The Monday after BFCM, email each one yourself and ask for a review. I've run this. It works.
32
Telling customers “keep your holiday rate if you review us” sounds harmless. Shopify counts it as an incentive, and incentivized reviews get removed. Keep the setup check and the review ask separate. Get them through the weekend first. Ask after, nothing attached.
32
People tip the waiter who brought their food. They don't think about the restaurant chain. "Help us grow with a review" asks a merchant to do a favor for an app they installed a few weeks ago. Ask from the person who just helped them, in their own name.
58
A support-chat review usually says what got fixed. That beats “great app!” After a chat ends well: - Send something small with nothing attached (like a GIF). - Then a thank-you about what happened. - Then the ask, from the rep in their own name. Skip a step and it feels transactional.
