My favorite line in your post is below — like so many people, I'm suspicious of new frameworks, because I wonder whether it is actually necessary. After all, what new understanding could it possibly enable?
Our goal was to propose a lens to view the world that helps us understand reality (and other frameworks) through a simpler model.
