Congrats to the Brewers who are the champions of baseball. Now let’s see who wins the super random tournament at the end of the year.

People seldom want the truth. They want people to confirm their opinions. That’s why people pay big money for leadership!!!
Another confirmation that everyone wants the truth until you give it to them.

Going to give it one more go before school starts for some. Any programs still looking for an assistant coach for the upcoming school year? I am in a position to leave now and be there tomorrow, ready to get to work. Appreciate those that have shared and those who have been a reference check up to this point. Hope everyone is off to a great start on the new school year. @xo_coachingjobs @Bill_MLBScout @SkippersDugout

I would add…if a freshman is resilient enough to handle the adversity that varsity will present, they play varsity. Joe Paterno would always preach… “I’d rather play a kid too late than too early.”
As the new high school sports year begins, remember this: if a freshman is good enough to play varsity, they play varsity. It doesn’t matter what sport it is. The best players should play, regardless of grade. Nothing more, nothing less.

I appreciate the honesty and more fans should just say it instead of pretending it's anything else than pissing your pants about not getting a system where you get a turn at an MLB-mandated participation trophy.

The owners don't want a salary cap because of the Dodgers. The owners want a cap because they've wanted a cap for decades. The Dodgers are a red herring, and you're going to let MLB get away with a lockout because you don't like the Dodgers trying to win more than anyone else.

Forever grateful for Coach JT and all he has done for my son!
Coach JT here! My playing background went up to a year of JUCO then realizing coaching was the route I wanted to take and have enjoyed every minute of that decision. I have experience in player development, education, mental game, and athletic operations management. I am interested in any collegiate coaching opportunities where I can contribute, continue learning, and help student-athletes reach their full potential! I am looking to get to work right away as July hits and the fall comes quick. I have my coaching portfolio and letters of recommendations readily available to provide to any organization looking to work together. I appreciate your time and the opportunity. Ran a youth camp today… I asked the question “How many of your coaches tell you to NOT watch the ball and just run?” Almost every hand went up. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ The intelligence must be between the lines. Let them make decisions and fail making them. Stop stealing their reps. Please!

I was asked yesterday by a parent of an 8 yr old, “What do you think of tee work?” I said…” Not a big fan because it doesn’t have a lot of transfer.” The young brain needs to track balls as much as develop an elite swing. In fact, the tee can promote bad habits. However….

Everybody hates the "launch angle swing" until your team grounds into 10 double plays over a weekend.

If you work with hitters, please be careful when indoors. When you’re outside, you tend to obsess about the ball. Barrels and ball flight! 👏 When you’re inside, you tend to obsess over irrelevant things such as “BALANCE” after the ball was destroyed! 🤦‍♂️ Let ‘em move freely.

Grade level instruction is one of the worst ideas that standardized education embraces. Imagine expecting every 10 year old to broad jump the same distance or run the 400 m dash in the same time. Skill acquisition occurs at different stages. #RunYourRace
No, we should not “meet students where they are.” We should teach the standards for the course, so students don’t miss out on grade-level instruction. Many students may also need intervention, and differentiation can’t take its place.

The most common, popular piece of advice from Mom and Dad when they see their son/daughter struggling is JUST HAVE FUN! Look, I get the concept. Failure hurts. They want to see the smile back on their child’s face. You know what’s going to make them smile? Success.

Pitchers need to practice catching pops. Especially true 3B foul when the 3B is way over in the 6 hold when you are playing heavy pull on a LHH.

John Smoltz, first inning: “The team that can strikeout less & put it in play has the best shot to win this game.” John Smoltz, fifth inning: “Paul Skenes needs to throw more innings instead of going for strikeouts. They don’t mean anything.”
