At Sonnet quality and 10x cheaper, slow output barely matters for overnight evals, log triage or batch refactors. The wait only hurts in interactive coding loops, so routing background work to Deepseek and live sessions to a faster model keeps most savings.

The theoretical foundation rests on the Trit-Plane Decomposition used in Post-Training Quantization (PTQTP). A full-precision weight matrix W is decomposed into a linear superposition of dual ternary trit-planes modulated by row-wise scalar columns: W ≈ ∑_k s_k ⊙ P_k. Here, P_k ∈ {-1, 0, 1} represents the discrete topology, while s_k ∈ ℝ^m represents the continuous magnitude. The inference equation becomes y = x W^T = ∑_k s_k ⊙ (x P_k^T). In standard linear-algebraic terms, the "trit-plane decomposition" is PTQTP's naming for a structured rank-D approximation of W as a sum of D ternary planes, each modulated by a row-wise scale vector — i.e., a low-rank factorization whose geometric "plane" language denotes exactly this factorization, not a novel algebraic structure. This formulation enables multiplication-free additive inference. The term (x P_k^T) is computed via add/subtract/skip trees, and the scaling s_k is applied via bitwise shifts if s_k is a power of two. A distinct mechanism operates below the ternary entropy floor: Tiled Bit Networks (TBN) exploit structural sharing to achieve sub-1-bit *effective storage*, which is a compression-ratio metric rather than a representation in the ternary {-1, 0, +1} domain. TBN's weights are strictly binary: a single small learnable tile t ∈ {±1}^k×m is trained per layer (1 bit per stored entry) and reused R times to tile the full layer, W_l = tile_expand(t_l), where the logical matrix spans R×k×m entries. Each stored bit is thus amortized across R logical weights, yielding 1/R bits per weight — 8x compression below binary networks corresponds to a reuse factor R = 8, i.e., 0.125 effective bits per weight. Because the ternary domain carries an entropy floor of log_2(3) ≈ 1.585 bits per unique value, sub-1-bit storage is information-theoretically impossible without such redundancy; TBN's inference datapath is consequently a binary expansion/broadcast path, not a ternary add/subtract/skip path. 3/6

I’m team Terry Tao, despite being aware we don’t know how a lot of drugs work. I think we are now normalising the ground for RSI and before we do that, I think a lot needs to be done vis-a-vis auditing, interpretability, and so on.
This is a slide from Terence Tao's 'Math 2.0' public lecture yesterday evening at Caltech. I am highly confident that, if the cure actually worked, almost any Stage 4 cancer patient would tell you that human comprehension of its mechanism is completely irrelevant to them.

rsETH bridging via LayerZero across Ethereum and all L2s will pause for a planned 24-hour window starting 8AM PST on 11th Sept. During this window, we will perform operations to facilitate the quarterly rsETH settlement for users on deprecated networks as part of the previously announced network consolidation - xitter.cf/KelpDAO/status/2056054… Bridge transactions already in progress are expected to complete automatically once the pause is lifted. Please wait until bridging reopens before initiating new rsETH bridge transfers. If you hold rsETH on a deprecated network, follow the recovery process in our published guide: blogs.kerneldao.com/blog/rec…
We are consolidating our supported networks to ensure the highest security standards for rsETH based on usage and integrations. The following chains will no longer support rsETH bridging after June 15: Optimism, Manta, Mode, Blast, Scroll, X Layer, zkSync, Zircuit, Swellchain, Hemi, Berachain, Sonic, HyperEVM, Unichain, TAC, Avalanche, Plasma Stable, MegaETH, Monad, Movement. If you hold rsETH on any of these chains, you have until June 15 to bridge back to the Ethereum mainnet. Post-deadline recovery is possible for a fee of 100 USDC per address. The exact process will be communicated closer to June 15.

For a month we've been showing you the machine behind $KUSD. What it turns down. The seven steps. The title on the invoice. Where a deal gets signed off, and what happens after the money goes out. All of it comes down to three people in a room. So here's what those three seats are.

Three seats, three different ways of being wrong about a trade. Trade finance. Two decades of it, on the bank side and the platform side. Commodity credit. Counterparty books running to a few billion dollars, with a clean loss record. Physical trading. Agri, metals, minerals, energy. Goods that actually move.

None of them come from crypto, and that's deliberate. The risk in this book isn't smart contract risk. It's whether a buyer in one country pays an exporter in another, on time, for goods that actually shipped. That's a judgment best made by people who've watched it fail before.
