261027 weverse live #KIMGYUVIN #김규빈 🐶 something that touched me was that when the snowman cover video got uploaded, my bubble got filled up with messages like “gyuvin-ah, please sing this song and that song as well.” “this song would suit you well,” stuff like that. there were so many song requests coming in so i was like “wow, that’s amazing. i can do stuff like this too. i did well, i worked so hard.” but i also had this feeling where i wondered: would i want to go back to the time before i improved? for the sake of feeling this happiness i’ve got right now, i would absolutely NOT want to go back to that time. i’ll NEVER return to that unimproved state. i think i’m lucky. when it comes to my vocals, the timing was right, i didn’t give up, and i’m at the age where this improvement was possible. if i were a high school student, i don’t think i would’ve ever improved to the extent i did right now with that mindset i had back then. so i’m thankful… just thankful to everyone. i don’t think i could’ve achieved this just through my own efforts, so i’m very very grateful that i was so lucky and that the me who didn’t give up is so worthy of praise.

🐶 i actually got accepted in the first round of university admissions. but at the time i was doing boys planet so i didn’t have time. though i still got accepted through the acting track. i’ll tell you that story someday in the future

261027 weverse live #KIMGYUVIN #김규빈 🐶💬 [a k-pop professor once said that] k-pop fandom culture is quite like a pseudo-religion. you trust and lean on one person, give them help and support, but fans feel a lot of emotions in that process. because the artists don’t know of those processes and only hear the fans’ final words [after they went through all that fan labor], it can’t be helped that a gap comes to be from there. that’s what i thought. if [loving idols is comparable to] a religion, even if you say something that’s not nice to this god you believe in, that god wouldn’t just uncaringly say “okay, so what,” right? i thought “ah, those things could indeed be similar.” i learned a lot about the attitude i should have among many other things from that professor’s lecture.

what the heck. i think gyuvin just confirmed the boys planet-era rumors that he got admitted to the korea national university of the arts because he said he got accepted to a first-tier university around boys planet final time and mentioned an acting teacher. but he said that’s a story for another time that he doesn’t want to fully share yet.

🐶💬 ah now that it’s getting cold, i wanted to cover a song i’d sing well, so there was this one song that i thought fans would like as well. i think it matched well with my vocal color so i chose it but the company kinda felt the opposite. they even said just sing the chorus part *gyuvin starts singing the chorus of the snowman* (t/n: gyuvin chose to sang the hardest part of jung seung hwan’s the snowman) 🐶💬 so i was like oh! gyuvin has decided to be stubborn. i said “i don’t want to [cover the chorus]. it’s okay, i’ll sing this part i chose instead.” and they were like “oh! oh! you’re going to sing that part.” i was like, yeah i will! fortunately, i got a lot of help, gave it a go, and it came out well right!

gyuvin is genuinely on another level of dedicated wow #KIMGYUVIN #김규빈 🐶 to improve my sense of pitch, i’d return to the vocal practice room again and shut the door. wah, i still do this. ah i realized i had such a hard time. so this is said to be quite a long process. my vocal teacher was surprised. he said that “while it differs per person, it takes a year for people’s voices to fully open up at the fastest.” then he said, “but look at yourself. it took you less than 6 months to open your voice up! this alone is worth being proud of so don’t be so greedy. but i said “teacher, i want to be greedy! i think i gotta work on this even more.” so he said, “okay, let’s go.” 🐶 so we kept at it, and this is what i’m doing right now. this is where i’m at right now. i said i wanted to write you a growth diary right? here’s the growth documentation diary. i had the showcon, did tgc, performed at music day, came and went back to japan for work. as soon as i got back from japan, there were even times i’d go straight to my vocal teacher’s place, even at 2am sometimes. fortunately my teacher was amazed by this [instead of seeing it as a burden]
