How’s this possible? So early? @grok confirmed this is approximately true.
This seems earlier than previous years. Might be wrong but it feels different.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The map's sunset times are incorrect, roughly two hours earlier than actual values for November 1 2026 (e.g. Seattle 4:51 p.m., New York 4:52 p.m.). freshcalendars.com/news/sunset-ti… timeanddate.com/sun/usa/seattl… farmersalmanac.com/sunset-before-…

Fun story: >Asked my mom for this >she doesn’t speak English well >wake up, my app got 1 star review >no comment left >wonder why >patch my app, fix onboarding and app features >scan for bugs >week passes >ask my mom to check if she can give me 5 stars >mom gives 5 stars >wake up next day >check App Store >no zero stars
Force your mom to test your onboarding If it’s too confusing for her, it’s probably too confusing for most people MAKE YOUR APP MORE INTUITIVE

That’s insane. Question is who’s next?
Apple just sent me this. Auto-terminated my entire developer account. No warning. No call. No human. 18 months of work gone. Only income. Tier-3 country. Broke. All because of old rejections from 8 months ago. Anyone else getting these automated 3.2(f) bans? #terminator #apple @tim_cook @AppleSupport @Apple #IndieDev #buildinpublic

Ok I’ve read a few of these but this is insane. Zero word from Apple btw.

I changed ONE word on my paywall button. Purchases went up.✅ Everyone says "Start your free trial" is the best paywall button. I tested it against a plain "Continue." "Continue" won. Not by a little. Here's the data, and what I think is actually going on 🧵👇 The numbers Old version: button said "Start my free trial"
• 19.5% of paywall viewers opened Apple's payment sheet
• 12.1% bought New version: button says "Continue"
• 27.9% opened the payment sheet
• 14.4% bought That's 43% more people willing to try paying. Why I think "Continue" wins "Start my free trial" sounds like a commitment. It's a phrase people have learned to fear, because a "free trial" so often means a surprise charge. "Continue" just feels like the next step in the flow they're already in. But here's the key part 👇 I didn't hide the trial. I moved it. Right above the button is a simple timeline:
Today: free
Day 5: we remind you
Day 7: billing starts And right under it: "7 days free, then $29.99/year. Cancel anytime." The button doesn't need to sell the trial when the screen already answers the scary question: "When will I get charged?" The other thing I found: people decide in ~6 seconds I measured how long people stay on the paywall. The ones who never tapped a plan left after a median of 6 seconds. A quarter left in under half a second. They're not reading your feature list. They're glancing, seeing "pay," and leaving. So the first glance is everything. What I'm shipping next A green badge right under the headline:
✓ Free for 7 days · Cancel anytime The trial is visible in the first second, and the button stays a calm "Continue." Honest caveats • This wasn't a clean A/B test. The new version also had a redesigned paywall layout.
• The new version had a smaller sample (312 vs 1,204 paywall views). So treat it as a strong signal, not a law of physics. But it's enough for me to stop assuming "Start your free trial" is automatically best. Takeaways for app builders✅ 1. Test your button copy. Don't just copy the "best practice." 2. Fear of surprise charges is the real enemy. Answer "when do I pay?" on screen. 3. Your paywall gets about 6 seconds. Put the most important line where the eye lands first. 4. Measure time on screen, not just taps. It tells you why people leave. I'll share the results of the badge test in a couple of weeks. What's on your paywall button right now?

Tiny Meta ads sauce 👇 Relaunched Meta ads for my iOS app this week and almost lit money on fire. The campaign looked perfect in Ads Manager. It would have reached ~3,000 people. Here's what I learned 🧵

8. Goal for the campaign: not cheap installs. Cheap paying users. A $1.40 install that converts at 12% beats a $0.90 install at 4%. Days 1–3: don't touch it. Day 7: cut losers, keep winners. Scale only after 2 weeks of profitable cost per trial.

9. First trial came in 40 minutes after launch. Exactly the person the data said to target. Will share how it performs. 📈

Apple won’t ban this guy but bans 1000s of other accounts per minute.
