What three people want to join me
You don’t have to scale up. The sweet spot for a fun business is 4-12 people on a team doing $500k -$5m revenue. A business can be designed for fun and freedom.

New version of Decks is live. prepare for the post-PowerPoint future.
i dont think it makes sense to build in powerpoint or google slides anymore. people are wasting time getting AI to interface with them I'm building my own slide deck editor that's both a smart co-builder with AI (meant to be used in codex or claude code), and also has built in coaching tools like testing titles, storyline, and 5 and 10 second tests to see if your slides make sense. currently working on turning this into a codex plugin - may open source it soon, would love to hear if this is helpful

Two ways to see this 1. The former growth in good jobs in high profit sectors is over 2. The rest of the economy will become the high growth sectors
The US tech sector continues bleeding jobs in official data released today—overall, employment decreased by 17k last month and is down 69k over the last year That's nearly as bad as the worst of the 2024 tech-cession, and much worse than the 2022 boom or even pre-2020 norms

Alone, I can make great slide decks Alone, AI does not make great slide decks Me + AI makes FAR better slide decks than I can make alone Creating a coherent narrative and story is still very hard for models. Augmented storytelling, at least in slide form, is powerful

underrated idea I think about a lot: prestige is good actually if we take prestige as attention, then the problem with prestige is that people actually seek out attention in the wrong areas of their life a credential, like impressive degree or a job, does nothing for you if you don't actually want to be moving in the direction of what that system wants out of you but if you seek prestige in a smaller zone of genius, something you care about, maybe its writing or making videos, then that sort of attention can push you toward prestige, especially early in career, is underrated. it usually is associated with jobs that really do get the most out of people and help them grow a ton. the problem with this high-status prestige is that it usually pushes people to excel in very narrow ways, ways that aren't great as your life evolves and your interests and desires expand. x is brutal in this way, it tears you apart if you are seeking status in ways that aren't actually aligned with what you care about. we see big accounts on here running x growth playbooks and they might have tons of followers, but are low in actual prestige in this local zone of poasting. and we see small accounts putting out bangers and people love to see it.
x is one of the only places where you can showcase your own exceptionalism w/o any credentials, institutional permission, or hell even a real identity. your ideas & thoughts become your credentials & often unlock a bunch of hidden levels of life.

"actually enjoy your work as a primary principle" has never been more of a solid bet with ai there is infinite degrees of freedom and directions you can move and work grinding dampens imagination and constrains - complete opposite of what this new work calls for

pedestalizing working in an office is sort of a desperate way of trying to reclaim a slower less productive time when we didn't have agents

At this level you're just creating a job for yourself
I know I blinked but dear god, founders are choosing to raise $15M seed rounds at $75M-100M post? Insert “I could have raised less money!?” Silicon Valley bar scene.

imagine paying accenture $32M for a website and them never shipping anything could probably build it in a day on a $200 plan now

the money-making life is but only one kind of life discovering the alternatives means asking bolder questions
The definition of the NYC problem: - Mid-30s with a $4mm net worth - Net worth only increasing by $300–400k/year - Will only retire with a low eight-figure net worth

claude slides is so uninspired, and doesnt have a point of view its just slides with chat - it should at minimum have comments on each individual slide it could definitely build something great
