My view on agentic trading is pretty unsexy: I donβt want an LLM deciding my trades, because theyβre bad at predicting price. Where theyβre actually useful is the boring research before a trade, the stuff most traders skip because it takes forever.
Say you want to test how BTC trades after an FOMC decision thatβs more dovish than expected.
You need historical fed funds futures to reconstruct what the market had priced in before each meeting, along with minute level BTC prices from several venues. The statement comes out 30 minutes before the press conference, and the surprise could come from the rate decision, the dot plot, a change in the statement or the chairβs tone. You have to classify it without using the subsequent BTC move as your answer. Then you need to reconcile ET, UTC, daylight saving changes and each exchangeβs timestamps.
Doing this properly takes days. Give a good model access to the data and it can do much of it in an afternoon.
You still have to judge the result but cheap backtests make it easy to try hundreds of variations until one looks convincing by chance.
Most people try this in a chat window, which canβt hold onto the data or keep long jobs running.
This is what Neptune is built for.
Each user gets a persistent VM where they and their agent can collect data, run research, schedule jobs and host tools. It comes with a native Pacifica connection, and the agent can trade through dedicated Neptune subaccounts once you grant it permission.
You can rent a server and build the same setup yourself, but for most people, configuring the environment, connecting the data and securing exchange keys is enough work that it never gets done.
Weβre starting with research and execution you approve. Over time, we want your agent to keep working in the background and return with evidence for you to decide whether thereβs a trade.

So many people have DMβd me about this trailer and Iβll be honest, watching it made me physically throw up.
I was COO from before FTX even had a name, it was my baby, and I was the last one out of the Bahamas after Sam got extradited. I lost everything I had on it and it took me a long time to get over, so I have zero interest in defending the people who caused this.
The media loves the story that FTX blew up because we were all partying in the Bahamas, but the place I worked looked nothing like that.
We had under 200 people in the core company at its peak, not counting subsidiaries, when other exchanges our size had thousands, so a lot of us were doing 16 to 18 hour days for over three years and barely had time to sleep, and whenever we walked in, day or night, Sam was at his desk.
I worked with Caroline and never once saw her get aggressive like she does in this trailer. Sheβs quiet and mild, and often lost in her own thoughts.
Most of us didnβt even know she and Sam were dating until we read about it after the bankruptcy, and I never saw him so much as put an arm around anyone.
FTXβs collapse ruined so many peopleβs lives, including ours, and Netflix decided to make it a love story.
Shame on you @netflix.
Imagine if someone made a 9/11 documentary except with two terrorists dating each other.
Disrespecful, out of place and wrong. π

The Private Alpha of Neptune is now live for Pacifica OGs. Neptune gives every trader on Pacifica their own AI agent, and I want to share why we built it.
Most traders have more ideas than they ever get to test. Turning an idea into clear rules, testing it against historical data, and running it live has traditionally required code and infrastructure. As a result, systematic trading has mostly remained the domain of programmers and quant desks.
AI agents can now do much of that work. But using one for trading still means setting up a server, managing API keys, connecting to an exchange, and manually verifying the agent actually built what you asked for. This setup is still where most people give up.
Neptune changes this by giving you your own server in one click. From there, you describe what you want in plain language, and Neptune builds it as a task, workflow, or trading strategy. You can inspect the rules it wrote, backtest them, and run them when you're ready.
Pacifica started as a dex. We later released an MCP server so agents could trade on Pacifica directly, because we believe an increasing share of onchain trading will be run by agents. Neptune is the next step: giving anyone access to those capabilities without needing to write code or manage infrastructure.
In future builds, Neptune will watch the markets you care about, run strategies across Pacifica's products, and help manage risk while you're away. Traders will be able to share and build on each other's skills and strategies, turning one person's ideas into tools others can use.
Eventually, much of what you do and how you trade on Pacifica will start with simply telling Neptune what you want.
Stay tuned for more!
I resigned from @pacifica_fi today.
