I’ll say this as a person who’s not good at the phone and never has been: calling friends on the weekend just to tell them I was thinking about them has been awesome. They don’t expect it and feel loved. If they can’t chat, they say so, but feel seen and say so.

Toronto has the busiest public transit in Canada and they allow pets, just not during rush hour. There is a very simple solution to @bctransit's classist rules that literally impoverish poor people further. Public transit is for the public and should accomodate all income levels.
.@bctransit it is absolutely classist that you do not allow dogs on the bus. How r lower income folx supposed to take them to the vet or to the lake to cool off? Not everyone has $60 cabfare for Thetis lake. And if your dog is injured while you are out? How do you get them home?
.@cbcnewsbc if you want to help pets fight for them to be allowed on @BCTransit today so their owners can take them to shaded lakes. Tried to get my dog out of the heat yesterday and the soonest a cab could come is 30mins! Without being able to get on bus we were trapped outside
You also have to take your dog outside to go to the bathroom, to not do so is considered animal cruelty, @cbcnewsbc to invite strangers to report a dog outside to the @BC_SPCA w/o context or knowledge of how hot the dog is or how long they've been outside is so harmful & reckless
Absolutely reckless reporting this morning @cbcnewsbc @BC_SPCA saying strangers should call the SPCA on dogs they see outside today. You have no idea what people's home conditions are like - some without AC are hot boxes and more dangerous than outdoors in the shade with a breeze
